Children will be celebrating Halloween throughout the Township from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025. Members of the South Park Township Police Department, the firemen from Broughton VFD and Library VFC, as well as the paramedics of Tri-Community South, will be out and about for the protection and safety of the trick-or-treaters. If assistance is needed while trick-or-treating, please call 911 or stop any emergency vehicle (police, fire, ambulance) for help.

Leaf / Yard Waste Collection

South Park Township has contracted with County Hauling for the collection and processing of leaf/yard waste on the following dates: Saturday, November 1, 2025 Saturday, November 15, 2025 Saturday, November 22, 2025 Saturday, December 13, 2025 REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for all residences participating in the Yard Waste Collection must sign up online at the County Hauling website by visiting https://www.countyhauling.com/yard-waste-collection-program/. For more information or to register, call County Hauling at 724-929-7694 ext. 2 or 888-883-0333. Leaf / Yard Waste Collection Requirements: 1. Leaves are to be placed curbside after 6:00 p.m. the evening prior to collection. 2. Leaf collection is limited to leaves, hedge clippings, and limbs and branches not exceeding three (3) inches in diameter, and only if tied in bundles not exceeding forty-eight (48) inches in length. 3. Leaf waste must be placed in biodegradable paper bags for collection because the bags are taken to a separate facility at the landfill and shredded in their entirety. As a convenience to our residents, South Park Township is selling leaf collection bags in the Tax/Sewage Office located in the Administration Building. The cost is $1.00 per bag, or five bags for $4.00. Leaf collection bags are also available at local discount and grocery stores. Leaves placed in plastic bags will not be collected during the Leaf/Yard Waste Collection Events
