Fridays: February 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th9:30am-3pmIn-Person @Rhode Island College Be ready when your dream job opens up! Description – We encourage CHWs and other direct service staff who are currently in the field or returning to the field, and who want to build confidence at work, strengthen professionalism, support their well-being, and grow in their careers, to apply for this in-person Job Readiness Bootcamp. The training focuses on practical workplace skills, self-care and wellness, stress and time management, professional boundaries, and strategies to prevent burnout and support work-life balance. This in-person, 24-hour Job Readiness Training is funded by the Institute for Education in Healthcare at Rhode Island College. The training will take place on four Fridays—February 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided on campus at Rhode Island College, and attendance at all sessions is required to receive a certificate of completion.  These hours ‘count’ towards CHW Certification and Recertification with the RICB! Learn How to Apply for Certification! Begin preparing your CHW application, including portfolio, for submission to the RI Certification Board. If you have already taken a Community Health Worker training and want guidance on applying for CHW certification in RI, this workshop is for you! This free virtual workshop will give advice, clarity and facts about preparing your portfolio. Please note: CHWARI does not provide the certification itself that authority resides with the RI Certification Board. This workshop will provide basic guidance but will refer you to the RICB for more complex questions. “Getting my CHW Certification helped me get promoted.  It also helped me push forward with getting a bachelor’s degree.  Becoming a CCHW can open so many opportunities, that it’s worth the time and effort to get certified.” – Wendy Sanchez, CCHW, Resident Services Manager, ONE Neighborhood Builders Certification (or a plan with your employer to get it) is necessary for getting Medicaid reimbursement for your CHW services, so register today! This workshop is open to those who: Have completed 70 hours of Core Competency CHW Training, or who are currently enrolled in a training program that will result in meeting that requirement (having applied for such a training does not count)Are employed as CHWs or who have completed 1000 hours of CHW work in recent yearsHave completed 1000 hours of CHW work in recent yearsIf you have not yet completed Core Competency CHW Training, join the Community Health Worker Association of RI here to learn about upcoming training opportunities. This five-hour training (offered in English) is designed for direct care staff working with older adults and their caretakers. The training is designed to increase your knowledge and practice skills to support work with older adults. This training opportunity is designed for direct care staff who are working directly with older adults or in settings that serve older adults. The training will be held on Saturday February 21st from 9am-2pm at RI College in Alger Hall, Room 107.  Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided.  Please Register BY 2/13 @ 9pm – space is limited.
