Are you interested in birds and do you enjoy being in nature? Join a ranger and a volunteer for our weekly birdwalks around Star Fort Pond. We will walk 1.5 miles at a slow pace while looking and listening for birds. All levels of birders are welcome from novice to expert. Bring comfortable walking shoes, water, and layered clothes as temperatures will vary during the morning. Also bring binoculars if you have them. We will have a few pairs of binoculars for checkout with a government issued photo ID. The walk is free and there is no admittance to the park. 

Star Fort Pond is Located on the backside of the park off Highway 246 on Kinard Road. From the visitor center, take a right on HWY 248 then a right on Johnston Road. At the end of Johnston Road take a right on HWY 246 and then an immediate right on K

Are you a fan of arachnids or are do you prefer to keep your distance. Either way, the spider walk is for you. Join rangers and volunteers as well take a slow meander around the park buildings and trail in search of these small park residents. Along the way we hope to learn a little about each type of spider found. The walk will start outside of the visitor center. Visitors should wear comfortable closed-toed shoes as well as weather appropriate clothing.
