Planes and Pancakes every 3rd Saturday! Bring the kids and enjoy a relaxing breakfast, panoramic views, and a busy runway in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer great views as Flight Marshallers direct modern and vintage airplanes for landing and take off.  Stop by to refuel your aircraft, meet aviation enthusiasts or just watch!   This public event is hosted by the Cleveland Civil Air Patrol Squadron.  Our Monthly Fly-In/Drive-In Breakfast is served by our cadets to fund career exploration in aviation, leadership development, and emergency services training to support our community in times of need.  Come support your future leaders!

Prepare to run for a meaningful cause! Terra Running Company is coordinating a 5K run at Greenway Park on May 16, 2026, at 9 AM, as part of the Walk Run Pedal Jamz Festival®— hosted by the City of Cleveland and the 100 Black Men of Bradley County. Runner check-in will start at 8 AM in the park. This festival combines fun and purpose. The morning kicks off with a 5K run that has a $25 entry fee. Your donation will support youth programs and scholarships for students in Cleveland and Bradley County. Ready to participate? You can register for the 5K run here. The first 200 participants will receive official timing, so be sure to sign up early. The first 25 to register by May 1, 2026, will receive a complimentary festival t-shirt. Everyone who participates on the day of the run will be given a free ticket for a chance to win some fitness and fun giveaways. You must be present to win. Come for the run and stay for the fun! The Walk Run Pedal Jamz Festival is FREE to attend and packed with activities for all ages. Enjoy food trucks, vendor tents, a toddler walk, free giveaways throughout the day, and live music. Our featured band is the Dexter Thomas Band.

The Dexter Thomas Band will be the featured band at the Walk Run Pedal Jamz Festival on May 16, 2026, at Greenway Park — and you won’t want to miss their incredible live performance. This FREE community festival offers something for everyone. The day kicks off with a casual 1–2 mile walk, a 5K timed run coordinated by Terra Running Company, and a leisurely 5–7 mile bike ride, with all donations supporting Bradley County youth enrichment programs. The afternoon is packed with free activities for all ages, including: • Delicious food trucks • Local vendor tents • A free toddler walk • Free giveaways throughout the day • And of course, live music featuring Cleveland’s own Dexter Thomas Band Come for the walk, run, and bike ride — and stay for the fun, the free giveaway, and the awesome music performed by The Dexter Thomas Band. Join us for the 2026 Leadership Cleveland Graduation and Alumni Association Scholarship Luncheon on Wednesday, May 20, at 11:30 a.m. at the Cleveland Country Club ballroom as we honor the graduates of the current year's program and raise funds to provide a non-profit executive with a scholarship to the program.  Each year, if funding is available, the scholarship committee of the Leadership Cleveland Alumni Association awards a scholarship or partial scholarship for the Leadership Cleveland program to a non-profit executive in Cleveland and Bradley County. The funds raised at this luncheon along with alumni donations support that scholarship. Our guest speaker is Carman Lastoria. Carman serves as the Director of Alumni Relations at Lee University. Carman is in his 14th year at Lee University. He previously served 12 years as the Associate Athletic Director overseeing the department’s marketing and communication efforts. In 2024, he moved into the role of Director of Donor Relations, and will continue to oversee fundraising efforts, primarily through leading the Annual Fund. Lastoria graduated from Lee with his Master of Business Administration in May of 2022. He received his bachelor's degree from Lee in 2008. He and his wife, Shalee, reside in Cleveland with their beautiful daughter, Bexley Ruth. Carman is a graduate of the 2024-2025 Leadership Cleveland class. Deadline for reservations is Wednesday, May 13. All members are welcomed and encouraged to support the alumni association efforts by attending the luncheon.

Join us for the 33rd presentation of the Mel Bedwell Small Businessperson of the Year Award at our annual luncheon presented by Pinnacle Financial Partners on Thursday, May 21 at Museum & Cultural Center at 5ive Points.  The Mel Bedwell Small Business Person of the Year Award luncheon honors an outstanding small business person in Cleveland and Bradley County for their success in six areas: staying power, growth in number of employees, increase in sales, innovativeness of product or service offered, response to adversity, and evidence of contributions to the community.  The Chamber board of directors renamed the Small Business Person of the Year Award to honor the memory of Mel Bedwell, who was known for his energy, determination, ingenuity, honesty, enthusiasm and loyalty—all traits necessary for a successful small business owner. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Howard J. Wall, Director and Chief Economist at the Center for Regional Economic Research at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.  Before coming to UTC, Dr. Wall was a professor of economics and the founding director of the Hammond Institute for Free Enterprise and director of the Center for Applied Economics at Lindenwood in St. Charles, Missouri from 2011 - 2023. Prior to Lindenwood, he was a vice president and regional economics advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. In addition, he spent ten years as an academic in the economics departments at West Virginia University and Birkbeck College, University of London. His main research fields have been in theoretical and empirical trade, although more recent focus has been on modeling and estimating the macroeconomy as the interaction of regional and local economies. A native of Upstate New York, Dr. Wall received his BA in Economics from State University of New York at Binghamton, his MA and PhD from State University of New York at Buffalo.  Members who would like to use available admission credits should call the Chamber office at 423-472-6587 to register.
