During this workshop Patrick McElhiney, Director of Grants at Columbia State, will provide an overview of the grant writing process and equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to successfully secure funding. Some of the topics covered include: Researching and Identifying Funding Opportunities Understanding Grant Guidelines and Requirements Planning and Research Proposal Development, Writing Tips  Using AI in the Grant Process Grant Submission and Proposal Follow-up and Implementation  Patrick McElhiney - Director of Grants at Columbia State Patrick McElhiney, a dynamic and dedicated professional, serves as the Director of Grants at Columbia State, a position he has held with distinction for the past five and half years. In this role, Patrick has played a crucial part in the college's success by securing just under $10.8 million in new grant funding, showcasing his exceptional skill in navigating the complex landscape of grants and funding opportunities. A true local, Patrick is a native of Williamson County, Tennessee, where he developed a strong connection to the community from an early age. Despite his roots, he has been a proud resident of Maury County for the last 18 years, contributing to the growth and development of the region he now calls home. Patrick's commitment to leadership and community service is exemplified by his participation in the prestigious Leadership Maury program. He is a graduate of the Class of 2021, often regarded as the "best class ever." This experience has undoubtedly enriched his understanding of community dynamics and strengthened his ability to lead initiatives that make a positive impact. Beyond his professional achievements, Patrick McElhiney is known for his approachable demeanor and collaborative spirit. His passion for education and community development extends beyond the confines of his role, reflecting a genuine commitment to creating opportunities for individuals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. As the Director of Grants, Patrick McElhiney continues to be a driving force behind Columbia State's pursuit of excellence, contributing not only to the financial health of the institution but also to its mission of providing quality education and resources to the community it serves.
