This Mother’s Day weekend, the Heritage Alliance invites the public to step back in time for the refined and elegant second annual Afternoon Tea on the historic Chester Inn porch. Taking place on Saturday, May 9, this Victorian-themed event offers a delightful way to honor the special women in your life while enjoying fine teas, delicious treats, and music in the heart of Tennessee’s oldest town. Guests may choose from three seatings at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. Whether celebrating with mothers, grandmothers, sisters, or friends, this timeless experience promises an afternoon of elegance and togetherness. Men and families are also welcome. Attendees are encouraged to dress in traditional afternoon tea attire, including striking hats, dainty gloves, and sparkling brooches. The best-dressed guest at each seating will receive a special gift. The event will be held on the Chester Inn Museum porch in Jonesborough, Tennessee, with seatings available at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person, with an optional champagne upgrade available for an additional $15 per person. Reservations can be made online at www.jonesborough.com/tickets. Seating is limited, and advance reservations are required. When booking, guests should specify their party name and total number of attendees to ensure proper table arrangements. Please note that the Chester Inn porch is not step-free and is not wheelchair accessible. The Jackson Theatre will host Washington County’s Got TEEN Talent on Saturday, May 9 at 7:00 PM. This community event will showcase talented high school students from across Washington County as they take the stage to perform for the public. Presented in partnership with 4Thirteen, the Town of Jonesborough, Washington County Schools, Johnson City Schools, and the McKinney Center, the event will feature performances from students in grades 9–12 and highlight the creativity and talent of local teens. Admission to the event is free. Guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable canned food item to help support those in need in the local community. Washington County’s Got TEEN Talent aims to celebrate and uplift the incredible talent found within our local schools while bringing the community together for an evening of entertainment and encouragement. The event will take place at The Jackson Theatre in historic downtown Jonesborough.
