Summer ITP is our training program we offer during the summer break session. Athletes ages 5 - 14 will develop skills in multiple gymnastics disciplines while in a small group setting. They will work on warm up, individual skills, tumbling, gymnastics, acrobatics, weight training and conditioning. Summer ITP is held Monday-Friday each week beginning June 1st and ending August 14th. We will not have Summer ITP the week of June 29th-July 3rd. Summer ITP will begin each morning at 9:00am with drop off as early as 8:45am and we will finish at 2:45pm. About the event Volunteers serve as Bible Story Assistants, helping create a warm, engaging environment by supporting the leader, encouraging participation, and ensuring each resident feels seen and included. For many seniors, this time is the highlight of their week - your presence helps ease loneliness, foster connection, and make space for God’s Word to bring comfort and joy.   What will volunteers do? Volunteers will assist the group leader during Bible Story time by helping residents see and hear clearly, offering gentle encouragement, and passing out hymnals and refreshments. You will also engage with residents in a warm, friendly way to help each person feel included and valued.   What will volunteers need to bring or wear? Comfortable, modest attire. Imagine the Hill Country of 100 years ago – see it for yourself at Honey Creek State Natural Area. This protected piece of land harbors plants and animals nurtured by a 1.5-mile spring-fed creek. Access to Honey Creek is only by guided tour. We lead two-mile tours of the natural area most Saturdays and Sundays. For details, check our Events Page at https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/honey-creek/park_events On the tour, you’ll hear about history, geology, plants, and animals of this special place. At the scenic overlook, you’ll get a first glimpse of Honey Creek winding through bald cypress trees far below. The tour culminates in a walk by the pristine and peaceful creek. The trail is about two miles long and moderate in difficulty--much of it is flat.  There are some rocky areas, slopes, and two steep but short hills.  *Expect the walk to last ~2.5 hours - there are frequent stops where your Guide will discuss topics such as flora, fauna and geology.   Who: Recommended for ages 7 and up; no dogs, please, except for service dogs Meet: Outside the Rust House (located within Guadalupe River State Park) When: 9- 11:30am Bring: Sturdy footwear, water, and sun protection.  It is imperative to dress for the weather and be hydrated during the summer months. Since 2006, Tejas Rodeo Company has been proud to serve as the hometown weekly rodeo for Bulverde/Spring Branch, and the surrounding Texas Hill Country communities. For over 20 years, families, friends, and visitors have gathered every Saturday night to experience an authentic Texas tradition right here at home. Imagine the Hill Country of 100 years ago – see it for yourself at Honey Creek State Natural Area. This protected piece of land harbors plants and animals nurtured by a 1.5-mile spring-fed creek. Access to Honey Creek is only by guided tour. We lead two-mile tours of the natural area most Saturdays and Sundays. For details, check our Events Page at https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/honey-creek/park_events On the tour, you’ll hear about history, geology, plants, and animals of this special place. At the scenic overlook, you’ll get a first glimpse of Honey Creek winding through bald cypress trees far below. The tour culminates in a walk by the pristine and peaceful creek. The trail is about two miles long and moderate in difficulty--much of it is flat.  There are some rocky areas, slopes, and two steep but short hills.  *Expect the walk to last ~2.5 hours - there are frequent stops where your Guide will discuss topics such as flora, fauna and geology.   Who: Recommended for ages 7 and up; no dogs, please, except for service dogs Meet: Outside the Rust House (located within Guadalupe River State Park) When: 9- 11:30am Bring: Sturdy footwear, water, and sun protection.  It is imperative to dress for the weather and be hydrated during the summer months. With four miles of river frontage, the Guadalupe River takes center stage at the park.  We are open daily, with a variety of activities for all interests, ages, and abilities.  Please check the calendar at the website below for the wonderful variety of offerings!    On the river, you can swim, fish, tube, and canoe. While on land, you can camp, hike, ride mountain bikes or horses, picnic, geocache, and bird watch. We loan fishing gear and kid’s explorer packs (free!) for use in the park. Camp at one of 85 water and electric campsites or nine walk-in tent sites.  Kayak or canoe the Guadalupe River. When the water levels are good there are several options for paddling trips. Explore 13 miles of hike and bike trails.  (Sometimes, we may close trails to protect sensitive areas or for bad weather. Please observe closure signs. Call or check our Facebook page or Twitter feed for updates.) Step away from the river to find the more peaceful areas. For a more primitive experience, our remote Bauer Unit Day-use area has hiking and biking trails with ratings from moderate to challenging. Experience native prairie grasses and wildlife. River access is a 2- to 3-mile hike downhill.  The Bauer Unit has no restrooms or potable water and fires are not permitted. Pack out your trash and Leave No Trace! Learn more about the park’s natural features at the Discovery Center. Take a closer look at nature using magnifying glasses, microscopes, and binoculars. Explore hands-on discovery boxes and exhibits. Ask about borrowing an explorer pack!

For many seniors, this time is the highlight of their week - your presence helps ease loneliness, foster connection, and make space for God’s Word to bring comfort and joy.   What will volunteers do? Volunteers will assist the group leader during Bible Story time by helping residents see and hear clearly, offering gentle encouragement, and passing out hymnals and refreshments. Join us for our monthly Veterans Breakfast that not only honors our heroes but also serves as a platform for local networking. Join fellow veterans for a morning of camaraderie, sharing experiences, and building valuable connections within our community. Bring a wingman, a battle buddy, or a veteran-friendly business professional with you. About the event Volunteers serve as Bible Story Assistants, helping create a warm, engaging environment by supporting the leader, encouraging participation, and ensuring each resident feels seen and included. For many seniors, this time is the highlight of their week - your presence helps ease loneliness, foster connection, and make space for God’s Word to bring comfort and joy.   What will volunteers do? Volunteers will assist the group leader during Bible Story time by helping residents see and hear clearly, offering gentle encouragement, and passing out hymnals and refreshments. You will also engage with residents in a warm, friendly way to help each person feel included and valued.   What will volunteers need to bring or wear? Comfortable, modest attire. Please bring your Bible.

Bulverde Police  Department Presents Police Officers Educating Teens Teens and parents are invited to sign up and see how making the wrong choice  or decision can affect the rest of your life.  Topics to be discussed are: Decisions  Drinking and Driving  Distracted Driving  Drugs  Bullying  Cyberbullying Sexting Social Media Driving Habits Speeding Risks vs Rewards  Respect   The intent of this program is to help young adults understand that they have a choice and to assist them in making an educated decision. The program will be taught by police officers and members of the court with occasional guest speakers. The program consists of 2 hours in a classroom setting with written, visual and audio material.  Attendees are encouraged to interact with instructors and ask questions. Parents are encouraged to attend. The class and all materials are free to  attendees.  Contact Debbie Lisso at 830-438-3612 ext. 217 for questions or to reserve a seat as class sizes are limited.
