Del Valle ISD is committed to ensuring every student graduates prepared for success in college, career, and life. As part of this commitment, our Board of Trustees has developed draft Student Outcome Goals focused on critical areas where our students need the most support and growth. Before these goals are formally adopted, we invite you to join us at an upcoming Town Hall to review the draft goals and share your feedback. Your input is essential to help us create goals that are both ambitious and achievable. Additionally, a survey will be sent out on Wednesday to provide another way for you to share your thoughts. Town Hall Details: ?? Monday, August 18 ?? 6:30 - 7:30 PM ?? Del Valle Middle School, 5500 Ross Road You can also provide feedback online by Monday, August 18 at noon: https://forms.gle/jX443FP7bvTAa3U89 Currently, some of our key student achievement measures are lower than we want, reflecting challenges that many students face across the district. These include early math and reading skills essential for building a strong academic foundation, and middle school math, which is a crucial stepping stone before high school. For example, our 7th grade math scores are the lowest across subjects, indicating a need for targeted focus in this area. While we want every student to reach 100% mastery, these goals are set to be both attainable and reasonable based on where we currently are as a district. They are designed to push us forward in meaningful ways while recognizing the real challenges ahead. Here are the draft goals we are working toward over the next five years: * Goal 1: Early Mathematics: The percentage of 3rd grade students whose score meets grade level or above on STAAR Math will increase from 27% in June 2025 to 60% by August 2030.* Goal 2: Early Literacy: The percentage of 3rd grade students whose score meets grade level or above on STAAR Reading will increase from 32% in June 2025 to 60% by August 2030.* Goal 3: 7th Grade Mathematics: The percentage of 7th grade students who score at the meets grade level or above on STAAR Math will increase from 6% in June 2025 to 40% by August 2030.* Goal 4: College, Career, Military Readiness: The percentage of college, career, and military ready graduates will increase from 61.9% in August 2025 to 90% by August 2030. We recognize that these goals are ambitious but necessary to give every student the tools and opportunities they deserve. To ensure these goals are realistic and meaningful, we are inviting you to share your feedback at our upcoming Town Hall. Your voice will help us balance aspiration with attainability and shape the future success of our students.Thank you for partnering with us on this important journey.
