Monarch Morning Event Registration Limit NoticeWe are excited to announce our upcoming event! To ensure a quality experience for all participants, we must limit registration to a maximum of 25 attendees. We encourage early registration to secure your spot. Once the limit is reached, no further registrations will be accepted.Thank you for your understanding and enthusiasm!Monarch Morning will begin with a multimedia presentation on the "Flight of the Monarch."  You will learn how to create your own Monarch Waystation in order to "Save the Monarchs."  Following the Monarch Waystation Garden Tour, you will learn how to watercolor wildflowers that will attract the monarchs.  All supplies are provided, but the cut-off for registration is 25 students.

Meet us at the Alibates Visitor Center at 9:15 am to embark on a two-hour adventure guided by a knowledgeable park ranger. The tour will conclude at 11:30 am. Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument will be hosting our first public event of the year, the “Alibates Star Party.”  This event is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025.The remoteness of Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument provides one of the best viewing locations of the night sky in the Texas Panhandle. The program will begin with a presentation outside at the Alibates Visitor Center.  Professor Arthur Schneider, Professor Emeritus at Amarillo College, will provide a presentation on the Panhandle night sky and stars.  Multiple telescopes will be set up, which will allow participants to observe star clusters, planets, and galaxies. Professor Schneider will guide visitors in observing the night sky.Participants should bring their own lawn chairs and insect repellent. Activities are free and open to the public. In case of inclement or cloudy weather, the event will be cancelled.  For additional information, please call at 806-857-6680 to sign up for the Star Party.
