The Stars at Night are Big and Bright! Join park rangers on a tour across our galactic neighborhood. Explore the far out reaches of the universe and share stories behind your favorite constellation. Park Rangers will take you on a guided tour of our night sky and look at some of your favorite planets and stars through a telescope. Reservations are required due to limited space. Please contact Ranger Omar at [email protected] or call the Barton Warnock Visitor Center at (432) 424-3327 to reserve your spot. When: Friday, July 25, 2025 from 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Where: West Contrabando Trailhead. Located on FM 170 (River Road) approximately 7 miles from Barton Warnock Visitor Center and 40 miles east of Fort Leaton State Historic Site. Bring: Camp Chair, blankets (it gets cooler in the desert at night), and a red bulb flashlight/headlamp. Cost: This event is free with park admission, $5 per person 13 and older. Park Admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. Programs are subject to location changes, postponement, or cancellation due to weather.
