Since 1946, it has grown to attract over 1,600 high school participants, featuring 50 competitive events and educational opportunities focusing on college and career readiness. It serves as a culminating event, bringing together youth from across the state to showcase achievements, compete, and engage in educational activities. The event fosters community, healthy competition, and personal growth, empowering youth for future success. Texas 4-H Roundup is opened to all Senior Division 4-H youth, competing AND non-competing. Non-competing Seniors can attend Texas 4-H Roundup to participate in various workshops, educational presentations, the College and Career Fair, the Trade Show, the 4-H Dance, Texas 4-H Roundup Community Service Activities, and the closing concert. In addition to contests that require qualification on a county and/or District level, there are also Invitational contests that DO NOT require county or District participation.

This is the only validation for steers. HeiferValidation for Fall and Spring Major Shows (Including State Fair of Texas, Fort Worth, Houston Rodeo). Once validated, heifers remain eligible for the rest of their show career unless they change breed or ownership. Heifers are validated twice a year in the Spring and Fall.
