Summer 2025 at the Port Isabel Lighthouse State Historic Site! Celebrate Independence Day July 2nd at the Lighthouse. Fireworks followed by "Inside Out 2". Movies are projected on the side of the historic Port Isabel Lighthouse at the Lighthouse Establishment Cinema. This is a free public event. Bring your comfy outdoor chairs or spread a blanket and settle in for this unique cinematic experience. The Lighthouse is open from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m., daily, weather permitting. Visitor Center: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (daily). There is an admission charge to the Lighthouse.  The Port Isabel Lighthouse State Historic Site is an accessible property. The camp is packed full each day with hiking, photography, categorizing, feeding animals, gardening, geography, and more. Our hope is that campers develop a relationship with nature that leaves them wanting to keep coming back.    Impact:  Our Kids’ Outdoor Odyssey Camp cultivates critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills while teaching kids how their actions can positively impact the environment.  Early exposure to conservation education inspires children to value and protect nature as they grow up. It’s our intention to help kids who participate in GREEN’s programs to go on to pursue higher education and careers in wildlife conservation, environmental science, sustainability or related fields. By teaching kids about the importance of local ecosystems, you’re fostering a sense of environmental responsibility that is crucial for the region’s future.
