Blocker Middle School is inviting students to show their school spirit and try out for the cheer squad.Tryout packets will be available beginning March 16 and can be picked up in the front office at Blocker Middle School or Levi Fry Intermediate.Students interested in trying out are encouraged to attend the cheer clinic April 6 through April 9 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Blocker gym. Official tryouts will take place April 10 at 4:30 p.m., also in the gym.School leaders say the cheer squad plays an important role in building school pride and leading the crowd on game day.For more information, students and families can contact Coach Giusti at [email protected].

The Sarah Giles Middle School Cougar Dolls Dance Team is inviting young students to join them for a fun day of dance this spring.The Dolls Jr. Dance Camp will be held April 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sarah Giles Middle School. The camp is open to students in Pre-K through fifth grade.Participants will learn basic dance skills while spending the day with members of the Cougar Dolls. Registration also includes lunch, a snack, a drink, a certificate and a T-shirt. T-shirts are guaranteed for students who register early.Early registration is $30 from March 3 to March 25. After that, the cost is $40, including on-site registration.Students who attend the camp will also receive free admission to the Giles Middle School Dance Department Spring Show on May 1.District leaders say the camp is a great way for young students to build confidence, learn new skills and enjoy a day of Blue and Gold spirit.For more information, email [email protected].
