Yellowstone Trip InformationWhen: May 19-21 2025 or May 21-23 2025. Cost: $250On this year's trip we will participate in hands-on learning experiences as we exploreand enjoy the natural wonders of Yellowstone National Park. That includes the alwayschanging weather usually rain snow and cold temperatures.We will leave school sometime after 10:00 a.m. the first day and return by 8:30 p.m. onthe third day. We are riding commercial buses. Each trip will be adequatelychaperoned by teachers. We will provide one chaperone for every twelve students.We will spend two nights in a hotel in West Yellowstone. Students will be responsiblefor lunch & dinner on day one dinner on day two and lunch on day three. All othermeals will be covered by the trip.&bull We plan on doing a lot of walking so take this into consideration in your decisionwhether or not you plan to attend. Students must be in good physical condition in orderto enjoy the trip.&bull Also work on the Field Book that will be provided is required.Application ProcessTo be considered for the trip you will need to submit an application. You will use the&ldquo Yellowstone Application Form&rdquo which will become available to students afterspring break and can be found on the school's website the front office or your 8 thgrade science teacher. When you've filled out the application and agreed to thestudent behavior contract turn the application to your science teacher.Once the Yellowstone Application Form is completed you will receive the YellowstoneChecklist. The checklist includes:&bull paying for your fees fines and dues&bull showing your past trimester grades and current tri 3 grade to check academiceligibility&bull choosing the three other students you will be rooming withOnly when you have completed this checklist will your spot on the trip be &ldquo confirmed&rdquo Refund Policy:We ask parents and students to consider carefully the trip date that they would like toattend. We understand that family emergencies activities and unforeseen things dooccur. If a student wants to remove themselves from the trip they need to let theirscience teacher know as soon as possible. Last minute cancellations are difficult forthe trip and will not guarantee a full refund of your money. Any questions regardingspecial circumstances should be addressed by contacting your science teacher.Student Contract:Students are expected to comply with all the following standards found in the contractthat they will sign when they fill out their application. Here are the standards: Students must have settled any fees they owe with the front office or library and pay for theirtrip in full before the due date of their checklist to be considered eligible for attendance.Students must be in good academic standing. Which means no &ldquo D or F&rdquo grades on any oftheir trimester report cards and current trimester 3 grades.Tardiness (4+ in a class) behavior office referrals (like cheating) and inappropriatebehavior in assemblies will be grounds for removal from the trip.Citizenship: No &ldquo N's or U's&rdquo on trimester report cards or trimester three grades.We would like to take all students but because of extreme safety issues only students whohave demonstrated that they can manage themselves will be allowed to come. The ability tofully trust each student is required. We ask that students follow the directions given bychaperones without argument. Arguing or backtalking chaperones will be cause for a call toparents and/or removal from the trip.Gaming systems are discouraged from being brought on the trip but if they are brought they must remain in the hotel room. Portable gaming systems will not be allowed in the parkand will be confiscated if brought into the park.Students will comply with being in their rooms by 9pm. Please remember we are guests at the hotel and as such need to follow the courtesy rules by remaining quiet in the rooms from 9pm&ndash 7am. Failure to maintain a quiet room or follow curfew will be result in calling home [nomatter the hour] and arranging for pickup of the student the next morning. Inappropriatebehavior in the rooms will also be grounds for a phone call.Behavior in the hotel as a guest also includes:&bull No running in the halls or stairwells &bull No using the elevator &bull No flushing feminine products&bull Please hold your door from slamming shut &bull Remove trash as needed from your roomStudents will comply with trip rules of staying off the floors of opposite groups. Each floor isassigned to specific groups and intermingling with other floors is prohibited.
