Students should be comfortable with basic computer use, such as using a mouse and keyboard, opening and closing applications and saving filesAudience: Teen-Adult Art Lab’s Adobe Mini Bootcamp training sessions are intensive introductions to Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, or Premiere Pro, following the official Adobe Classroom in a Book training materials. The goal is to develop a working knowledge of the programs, and their possibilities and capabilities, as well as successfully create and edit images, video, or motion graphics. The short Mini special format covers the most common tools and tasks, but cannot get as in-depth as the regular 8 session Bootcamps. Both beginners and more experienced users will benefit from these courses. Adobe Premiere Pro is the industry-leading editing software for videographers, filmmakers, journalists, media students, and more. This feature-packed platform offers non-linear editing for creative video production. This skill-building course will expose students to the tools and techniques of this platform, preparing them for more intensive work in the software. Then, add your own personal flair with textures, added design such as sculptural faces or flowers. You’ll also be shown how to make tea bowls to accompany your teapot, and time permitting, a tray to hold all your ware. All supplies and firing fees included. 9/9-10/2: Hand building class97-10/16: No class drying and bisque firing period10/21 & 10/23: Glaze week (Required attendance for all participants to apply food safe glaze to your bisque-fired work. No additional fee for this week.)

Instructor: Morgan FordCost: $108Time and date(s): Saturday, September 13, 11 a.m. –  5 p.m.Location: Art Lab Lecture Room & DarkroomSkill level: New LearnersAudience: Teen – adult Photography is so much more than a quick phone snap the hands-on experience of analog processes are undeniably fascinating. Here is your opportunity to get a glimpse into the world of darkroom film photography and alternative processes. Fifth in a 6-session series, Alternative Darkroom Techniques explores several non-traditional analog photographic processes. Cameraless photography techniques will be explored including cyanotypes, photograms, lumen prints, and printing on various surfaces with liquid emulsion will be explored. Printing and developing with sustainable processes will also be included like caffenol, anthotypes, and salt fixers. Students who are interested in fine art alternative photography processes are encouraged to apply. All chemical supplies will be provided. Students are encouraged to bring different surfaces they would like to print on and any materials they would like to use for cyanotype, photograms and lumen prints.  Students do not need to register for the entire series, they can take only the classes that work for them.  Morgan Ford is a Fine Art Photographer from Johnson City, TN. Morgan has been an artist all of her life, but after her first 35mm photography course in High School she fell in love with the process of light and catching that brief moment in time. At the age of 20 years old she moved to California and studied photography at Brooks Institute of Photography where she learned to shoot and develop her own film. Morgan has had exhibits all over the country showing her Fine Art B&W Photography of beautiful countrysides, wild horses, and dilapidated buildings. She currently resides in the Appalachian Mountains where she has a studio, darkroom, and large garden.  Registration Deadline: September 5
