Low-Cost Rabies, Distemper, and Microchip Clinic

The AWLA hosts a Drive-Up Rabies, Distemper and Microchip Clinic for dogs and cats the first Wednesday of every month! The clinic is BY RESERVATION ONLY. The clinic runs from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. A separate appointment slot is needed for each pet. Please note: Registration for each monthly clinic opens at noon two Sundays before the clinic date. To ensure we are observing the best safety protocols for our human and animal visitors and our staff, all attendees will be required to comply with the following guidelines: You must arrive by your scheduled time, or we will not be able to serve you.Owners will not be permitted to enter the building.All dogs must be on leashes cats must be in carriers. If you need a leash or carrier, please contact us at [email protected] prior to the event.Vaccinations Offered and Cost: Rabies – for dogs and cats ($10)DA2PP – Canine Distemper-Adenovirus Type 2-Parainfluenza-Parvovirus vaccine, for dogs (Free thanks to Petco Love)FVRCP – Feline Rhinotracheitis-Calici-Panleukopenia vaccine, for cats (Free thanks to Petco Love)Microchips: PetLink Microfindr microchips – For dogs and cats ($10)Dogs and cats with a current rabies vaccination will receive a 3-year rabies vaccination. If requesting a 3-year rabies vaccination for your pet, you must bring a copy of your pet’s current rabies certificate (not the rabies tag) to the Clinic. Please note that all distemper vaccines will be valid for 1 year. Once you have registered, the AWLA will contact you via email to complete registration paperwork ahead of the clinic. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card on the day of the event. For questions, email [email protected]. Virginia law requires that all dogs and cats four months of age and older have a current rabies vaccine. Residents of the City of Alexandria are also required to license dogs and cats that are four months of age and older. Information about licensing can be found here.
