Dear Ms. Minson, I am writing on behalf of the League of Women Voters of Falls Church (LWVFC) to request permission to distribute post-card size handouts outside each of the Falls Church City Schools on their respective back-to-school nights. The handout (copy attached) provides a QR code and a website that voters can use to register to vote or to check their registration status. It provides the date of the upcoming election and the start of early voting, and it urges everyone to make a plan to vote. LWVFC is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse or promote any candidate for public office. Our goal is simply to encourage as many citizens as possible to exercise their right to vote. With your permission, we distributed similar handouts outside of the schools last year on back-to-school nights. Similar to last year, we plan to have a small number of volunteers (2-4) doing the distribution this year. As we did last year, we will stand outside the schools, and we will abide by the requests that you made: We will not impede entrance or egress to the schools We will not place any signs on school grounds We will not place any materials on cars parked on school property We will not leave any litter on school property. I am copying each of the school principals so that they will be aware of our plans. Please let me know if we can carry out our planned distribution, as we did last year.
