Girls on the Run of the Shenandoah Valley (GOTRSV) is inviting the community to celebrate confidence and connection on May 15. Get dressed up, but wear your best sneakers! The evening will be filled with food, fun, a silent auction, inspiring speakers, dancing, and so much more.  We are excited to announce that three amazing women will share their journeys in women's empowerment. Molly Barker, founder of Girls on the Run; Betty Kellenberger, the oldest person to through-hike the Appalachian Trail; Zoey Coleman, Miss Shenandoah Teen; and the founder of Fuel Your Future Teens.  Sneaker Soirée fundraiser on Friday, May 15, 2026, in the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley Gardens.  Girls on the Run of the Shenandoah Valley, founded in 2011, delivers after-school programs for girls in grades 3–8 that combine physical activity with life-skills development. Through a research-based curriculum, participants build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop important social-emotional skills. Each season culminates in a celebratory 5K.

The Top of Virginia Regional Chamber, in collaboration with Winchester City Public Schools, is honored to present our members with an exclusive opportunity to view Multiple Choice, a documentary offering an inside look at the Emil and Grace Shihadeh Innovation Center (EGSIC). As a dynamic, hands-on extension of John Handley High School, EGSIC delivers core and Career and Technical Education programs that equip students not only for college and career pathways, but most importantly, for life.   Following the screening, a panel of educators and workforce leaders will host a Q&A session exploring the center’s impact and highlighting ways local employers can partner with schools across the region to support High Quality Work-Based Learning experiences, which are often the first step in building a strong workforce pipeline. Guided tours of EGSIC will also be available while school is in session, allowing you to see students and educators in action. This session is intended for business professionals who want to learn how they can partner with our public schools in the region. Seats are limited, so register today!
