Hand-finish a leather traveler's-style journal cover: bevel and burnish the edges, stamp your initials, and saddle-stitch the spine. Add a notebook refill and write in it the same day. Fidalgo Makers Guild is a workshop studio in Anacortes, Washington, on Fidalgo Island at the edge of the Salish Sea. We teach real crafts with our hands, in small groups, to people who want to make something and meet their neighbors while they do it. Every class teaches you something you can take home and do again and again. Materials and instructions are created for all skill levels, currently catering to adults only (kids curriculum and classes are planned for the future). At FMG you will find a mix of classes spanning the spectrum from practical DIY skills to fine arts. There's something for everyone.

Join STRENGTH IN AGING SQUAD, a weekly movement and connection class designed for older adults who want to move confidently, connect with others, and enjoy the benefits of nature (weather permitting) while aging well. Led by Connie Wyatt, OTR/L, an experienced occupational therapist, this class blends evidence-based movement with the life-giving benefits of fresh air and community. Activities are adapted for all abilities while challenging you safely and effectively.  Improve balance & reduce fall risk. Build strength, flexibility, and confidence. Connect with others who get it. Breathe fresh air while moving in nature. Learn snippets of lifestyle medicine as related to aging. Have fun while working toward your goals. Who Can Join? Older adults of all abilities. Why Outside? We move and socialize less as we age. Let's change that together. Fresh air, movement, and meaningful connection are powerful tools for healthy aging.
