Are you already a gardener and looking for ways to reduce chemical use in your garden? This talk explores how to use fewer chemicals in home gardens. It begins with an overview of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for both food and ornamental plants with an emphasis on non-chemical management techniques. It then covers practical measures and philosophical approaches for the home gardener striving to use fewer chemicals. $10.50 BBGS Member & Master Gardener/$15 Non-Member.

Taught by Jo Anne Iaciofano. Grab your mat, kick off your shoes, and join this Pilates-inspired class to improve body movement, core strength, and muscle control. This beginner friendly class, using mind-body connection and breath, will take you through a series of exercises with an emphasis on technique and fluidity. We will focus on those areas most stressed during gardening by using your core to power the muscles, increasing your energy and endurance. All levels welcome. Wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to work out barefoot from standing to working down on the floor. Please bring a yoga or Pilates mat, towel, and water. This event is for families with children in grades K-2 or those interested. This is not a drop off program. Adults must attend with children. Storytime for K-2 will take place in the Sharp Cabin at the Bellevue Botanical Garden (southwest of the Urban Meadow follow the signs). This is a free event. Donations are appreciated. Learn more about the birds at the Bellevue Botanical Garden. Join Eastside Audubon for a monthly walk that explores the birds and their habitat in the Garden. This one-mile walk will be on trails with various surfaces and may include gravel, mulch, or pavement. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Parking in the lot is free. From the parking lot enter the garden through the breezeway and turn left. Meet your guide in the covered Gathering Place. This walk is for any level of birder and no experience is necessary. Bring binoculars if you have them. There will be some available to loan for the walk. Each walk is $5 per person. Registration is required.
