[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”875554″] Build confidence in your garden from the ground up as you learn to read your soil, plan your crops, and prepare for a season of beauty and abundance. Healthy soil and thoughtful planning are the foundation for a garden you can truly revel in—one filled with lush growth, healthy harvests, and peaceful moments outdoors. When you understand what’s happening beneath the surface and how to organize your planting season, growing becomes simpler, more intentional, and far more rewarding. Led by Oxbow Native Plant Nursery Manager Lea Dyga, you’ll learn how to identify, grow, harvest, and use over 10 native plants with nourishing and healing properties. You’ll gain practical skills to incorporate these plants into your daily life and garden, sample a variety of edible herbs, and craft a custom tea blend. At the end of the class, you’ll take home your own planted container filled with edible and medicinal native species from Oxbow’s nursery.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner row_inner_height_percent=”0″ back_color=”color-xsdn” overlay_alpha=”50″ gutter_size=”3″ shift_y=”0″ z_index=”0″ uncode_shortcode_id=”191071″ back_color_type=”uncode-palette”][vc_column_inner column_width_percent=”100″ gutter_size=”3″ overlay_alpha=”50″ border_color=”color-jevc” border_style=”solid” shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ width=”1/1″ uncode_shortcode_id=”142427″ border_color_type=”uncode-palette”][vc_separator sep_color=”” uncode_shortcode_id=”727146″][vc_empty_space empty_h=”1″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”760930″] Register via Eventbrite[/vc_column_text][vc_raw_html]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[/vc_raw_html][vc_empty_space empty_h=”1″][vc_separator sep_color=”” uncode_shortcode_id=”727146″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space empty_h=”2″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”203935″][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”255235″] You’ll Discover:Soil Testing Techniques: Grow a deeper understanding of your soil by learning how to properly collect samples, interpret soil lab reports, and explore soil texture through a hands-on flowchart that reveals how structure, nutrients, and pH influence plant growth. Attending farm camps as a child turned environmental education into a lifelong passion. During his studies at Quest University Canada, he hosted garden parties and fell in love with wild foods. He went on to manage the kitchen garden for the Culinary Institute of America, where he now holds a graduate degree in sustainable food systems. He has built and installed a free seed library, led countless edible school tours, and founded the grassroots Napa Farmers Guild. He moved to Seattle to serve with AmeriCorps as the community agriculture specialist for King Conservation District, where he supported food security programs with public, tribal, and refugee agencies, and designed the online community agriculture map. Jacob is thrilled to find new roots at Oxbow, helping the next generation explore what it means to be in relation with land and each other.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”121386″][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”838999″] Grant-supported Pricing[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner column_width_percent=”100″ position_vertical=”middle” gutter_size=”3″ overlay_alpha=”50″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ width=”1/4″ uncode_shortcode_id=”934929″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”199801″][/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner column_width_percent=”100″ position_vertical=”middle” gutter_size=”3″ overlay_alpha=”50″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ width=”3/4″ uncode_shortcode_id=”112200″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”113658″]We’re excited to offer this workshop at just $5, thanks to generous funding from 4Culture’s Doors Open grant! This experience is valued at $20, but the grant helps us make it accessible to more of our community. We’re deeply grateful for this support, which allows us to connect more people with outdoor learning experiences.
