Join us for our monthly networking luncheon. Enjoy a fun round of networking, a guest speaker and lunch. Remember to bring your business cards for networking and to enter yourself into a drawing to win Member of The Month. June's guest speaker and sponsor is William McCarter from Recycling & Disposable Services.  Everyone is welcome to bring a door prize although it is not required. This can be merch from your business, a local coffee card, a small gift, etc. Your business will receive recognition at the luncheon and a social media "Thank You" post after the event.    Looking to sponsor the next Ferndale Chamber Networking Luncheon? Ferndale of a Sale Day A town-wide treasure hunt with a downtown twist! Ferndale’s beloved Community Garage Sale Day is getting an upgrade this year and becoming Ferndale of a Sale Day — a day full of bargains, treasures, and local shopping all around town. Start your morning at the group yard sale and vendor area at the corner of Fourth St. and Alder St. Browse booths that range from yard sales to local vendors and crafters, and while you're there you can pick up a printed map (or use the online interactive map) to guide your treasure hunt. Once you’ve mapped out your route, head out into the neighborhoods to hunt for hidden treasures and great bargains at the many yard sales happening around town. After you’ve worked up an appetite bargain hunting, swing downtown to treat yourself to lunch and explore local shops that may have special sales and deals just for the day. Whether you're searching for hidden gems, supporting local makers, or just enjoying a day out in the community, you’re bound to find a heck of a deal in the Dale! Date: Saturday, June 20 Time: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (times may vary depending on the seller) Where: All around Ferndale! Want to Participate? Get your Garage Sale on the Map! Register your address to be included on the official event map for just $5. Vendor or Crafter? Join the group yard sale area at 2084 Alder St. (next to Rockwood Realty and Ferndale Mini Mart). 10 x 10 outdoor space: $25 - $35 Limited spots available You may reserve multiple spaces if you have lots to sell! Local Businesses Businesses are encouraged to join the fun by offering a special sale, discount, or promotion during Ferndale of a Sale Day. The choice is yours on what to offer! Your offer doesn’t necessarily have to be redeemed that day — Maybe you will choose to offer something like a dollar or percentage off that customers can use later. Ideally, the opportunity to get the deal is only available on Dale Sale Day, giving shoppers a reason to come explore Ferndale and visit your business. Tell us about your deal or discount and we'll add it to the what we are promoting! Could the American Revolution have been both a fight for human liberty—and for empire and dominance? Explore the strange duality of the Revolutionary War with historian Lawrence Hatter. Meet the Revolutionary War generation who won huge victories for universal human rights, yet who conquered other humans for territory and treasure. Discover the Battle of Fallen Timbers, where the U.S.’s victory over a Native confederacy led to its ongoing invasion of Indian Country. As the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence approaches, how can we celebrate the Founders’ achievements while reconciling with this dissonant past? Lawrence B. A. Hatter is an award-winning scholar and teacher of Colonial and Revolutionary American history. A native of the United Kingdom, he received his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia and currently serves as associate professor of History at Washington State University. He has been published in The Washington Post and TIME magazine. He also writes a regular column for Spokane’s The Inlander newspaper. Lawrence lives in Pullman. This talk is presented in partnership with Humanities Washington Speakers Bureau and The Thomas S. Foley Institute for Public Policy and Public Service, which educates citizens across the state about democratic institutions and public affairs, and is based at Washington State University. Celebrate summer, music and libraries at free concerts hosted across the Whatcom County Library System. At each event, discover what’s new at local libraries and join neighbors in a joyous evening of live music. We're keeping up the tradition of bringing quality jazz to Ferndale. Jack Radsliff and his band will perform in the main space of the library from 6-7pm. Find a seat among the bookshelves and groove with fellow fans of jazz and libraries. As a bandleader, Jack’s group is a fixture at clubs and festivals throughout the region including The 1905, Seattle Jazz Fellowship, PDX Jazz Fest, Mt Hood Jazz Fest, Little Big Fest, and Anacortes Arts. His records, Migration Patterns (2017), Barefoot (2024), and Living/Live (2025), have all been well received; the first two making it onto critics “best of” lists and the latter being called “one of the best albums to come out of Portland’s jazz scene so far this year” (Willamette Week). Seats are limited and registration is required. Reserve your seats now! The Whatcom Grooves Summer Concert Series is generously supported by the Whatcom County Library Foundation and the Friends of the Ferndale Library.
