A weekly walking group geared for all ages and levels of fitness is offered at the Lynden Library. Do you want to build a habit of weekly walking but don't want to do it alone? This is a great opportunity to get exercise and enjoy casual conversations with neighbors. Walking routes start at the Lynden Library. We will walk for 30 minutes and conclude at the library with stretching and snacks. Wear walking shoes and dress for comfort. Reflective vests will be provided. You should consult your physician or other health care professional before starting this or any other fitness program to determine if it is right for your needs.

Do you want to learn English? Join our small group class to practice basic English conversation! Come to the Lynden Public Library to speak, listen, read and write in English. Our staff can help you with your English goals in a safe and comfortable space. The session is free and open to all. Bring a friend! Registration is encouraged but not required. It is not necessary to attend every class, and patrons may join at any time throughout the 8-week session.This program is presented by the Whatcom Literacy Council. The Whatcom Literacy Council, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, empowers adults in Whatcom County to achieve their goals and improve their lives through literacy. Offering free small group classes, they help individuals of all education levels build English and literacy skills, fostering confidence and opportunity for all. El objetivo es conocernos y crear un espacio de confianza y apoyo, de aprendizaje y diversión saludable. Primer miércoles de cada mes, de 5:30 a 7:30 p.m. en la Sala de Reuniones de la Biblioteca Lynden. Este programa es en Español. Join us in sharing stories, cultural traditions, food, books, games, music and news. Participate in conversations, crafts and activities. These are just a few ideas for this club. Future sessions will be designed by the participants. The goal is to get to know each other and create a space of trust and support, learning and healthy fun. First Wednesday of each month, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Lynden Library Meeting Room. This program is in Spanish.
