We're excited to announce the launch of our 2026 Stuff the Bus Food and Funds Drive at the Anacortes Refinery, supporting the Helping Hands Food Bank CHOW (Cutting Hunger on Weekends) Program. This important program provides nutritious weekend meals to local students who may not otherwise have access to food when school is not in session. For many children, a bag filled with food means more than a meal. It provides peace of mind, helps them stay focused in school, and gives them the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. Stuff the Bus continues to grow. This year, we're excited to expand collection locations through new partnerships with Farmstrong Brewery and Skagit Speedway, creating even more opportunities for our community to come together and support local children HOW YOU CAN HELP 🥫 Food Donations – Farmstrong Brewery, Skagit Speedway or email [email protected] to arrange a drop off for Anacortes only. Described as "both very traditional and highly flexible" by Folkworld Magazine's Alex Monaghan, and as "one of the most energetic and creative acts to take root in the local Celtic music scene this century" by Boston Irish Reporter Sean Smith, Scottish Fish present a fresh take on traditional and contemporary Scottish and Cape Breton music. After growing up steeped in the Boston Celtic music scene, these five young women began touring at an early age, quickly enchanting domestic and international audiences with their youthful enthusiasm, creative arrangements, and sensitive performances. As described by a concertgoer, "this powerhouse quintet wows listeners with a luscious and exciting sound, at times five instruments sharing one voice, and others a dynamic orchestra of harmony. Their years of friendship cultivate a truly unique musical bond. Women Build brings women together to empower each other, build community, and help create safe, affordable housing for local families. Whether you’re an experienced builder or picking up a hammer for the first time, this is a welcoming opportunity to roll up your sleeves and make a meaningful difference. Your participant fee of $35 for 1 day (additional $15/day if you’d like to do more than 1) includes a hard hat, event t-shirt, and goody bag. Zach Bauman (bouzouki), Sam Vogt (guitar, whistle), David Lofgren (bodhrán), and Hanz Araki (flutes, vocals) play a cunning blend of traditional songs and tunes from Ireland, Scotland, and beyond! Steeplechase came about in the tried and true manner of Irish music bands throughout the centuries, which is to say, at the session. It became clear that these horses could pull in the same direction, and thus a band was born. Three of the four members have connections to Maine, but they all managed to find their way to the northwest corner of the United States. Hanz Araki (flutes, vocals), Zach Bauman (bouzouki), Sam Vogt (guitar, whistle), and David Lofgren (bodhrán) each have long histories in folk music; and while their paths to taking up traditional music may vary wildly, their passion for, and love of this art form is unquestionably shared. Doors open at 6:00pm, music at 6:30pm, refreshments will be available for purchase. Members receive a discount on tickets to this show.
