Instructor: Megan Cave  What You'll Learn: This 3-Day Beginner Crochet Course is an approachable, hands-on introduction designed for students with zero prior experience. Over three sessions, students will learn how to use basic tools, create essential stitches, read simple patterns, and complete a finished project. By the end of the course, students will have completed a crocheted dishcloth and gained the foundational skills to move confidently into more advanced projects such as scarves, granny squares, and full patterns. Session 1 (January 22nd):  Learn tools, vocabulary, how to hold the hook, controlling tension, yarn handling, slip knots, and chains. Session 2 (February 5th):‍ ‍Learn single crochet, turning chain, half-double, double crochet, stitch counting, recognizing and rectifying common mistakes. Session 3 (February 19th): Learn pattern types, make a small project, finish a piece. Skill Level/Age Range:  Beginner/ 8+  Student Instructions:    Materials Needed:  Megan will provide the hooks and yarn needed for the first session. Students will be instructed on materials needed for the second and third sessions (hook, yarn, scissors, measuring tape, tapestry needle, stitch marker).

What You'll Learn:  During this painting workshop students will work on individualized projects at their own pace with help from the instructor. Use this class as an opportunity to finish those “almost done” paintings or come with some new inspiration and painting ideas. Bonnie will help you take your painting skills to the next level. Come once (or each week!) to work on paintings, build community, and receive helpful instruction.   Students are invited to choose to paint with and get instruction on either acrylic or oil techniques. Skill Level/Age Range:  Intermediate/ 16+ Student Instructions: It's your project, bring a photo or image to reference.  Materials Needed:  Students may choose to bring their own supplies (canvas, paint, paint brushes) or purchase supplies from the instructor for an additional fee.  Please choose “instruction only” or “instruction and supplies” at checkout.

This event features a pre-show presentation from one of the stars of the film, Mike Hattrup!   ==================================================================================    Dude, Where's My Glacier?   The film BLIZZARD OF AAHHH’S rewired ski culture in 1988, defining extreme skiing, and introducing the world to Mike Hattrup. Before we screen the film, Mike, now a Ski and Snowboard Hall-Of-Famer, will take the stage to share an eye-opening, first-hand account of a glacier he has observed for three decades, a massive body of ice in a stunning, slow-motion retreat. In one tightly-packed night, two stories: the thrill of riding the big mountain snowpack, and the sobering reality that it is slowly slipping away.    ==================================================================================   Film Synopsis: The Blizzard of Aahhh’s is a rockumentary style look at the ski world in 1988. Before this film, extreme skiing existed in small pockets around the world. But after Blizzard Of Aahhh’s the ski world changed. This is Greg Stump’s legendary movie that put him and, ultimately, the sport of what was then extreme skiing (now Big Mountain Skiing) on the map. The film features Scot Schmidt, Glen Plake and Mike Hattrup. This movie contains some of the best ski action ever filmed in the world at the time. From France’s awe inspiring Chamonix Valley, Telluride, Colorado, Snowbird, Utah and California’s Squaw Valley. The film is considered by many the best ski movie ever made and arguably the catalyst which began the extreme sports movement.   About the Speaker: Mike Hattrup is a highly accomplished skier and industry leader, inducted into the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame in 2021. Recognized for his influence in the skiing world, he was named one of Powder Magazine’s “48 Most Influential Skiers of Our Time” in 2006 and listed among the “50 Best Skiers in North America” in 1998. An AMGA Certified Ski Guide since 1999, Mike has skied extensively across the European Alps, Norway, Russia, Japan, Turkey, Chile, New Zealand, Australia, Greenland, and Canada.   As a former member of the US Freestyle Ski Team for moguls (1987-88), Mike’s career also includes featuring in over a dozen ski films with legendary filmmakers like Greg Stump and Warren Miller, including the iconic Blizzard of Aahhhs. In addition to his on-snow accomplishments, Mike has played a pivotal role in brand building and product development for major ski companies such as K2, Fischer, and Black Diamond, specializing in both alpine and backcountry markets.   He's called Sun Valley home for over 30 years and currently serves as the Director of Skiing for Eleven Experience, where he continues to fuse his passion for skiing with leadership and innovation in the industry.   Presented by Friends of the North Bend Theatre    Sponsored by Science on Screen®, an initiative of the Coolidge Corner Theatre, in partnership with the Alfred P. Group fun run - all levels trail. These runs are designed to satisfy all: the beginner who wants to discover what the buzz about trail running is, the competitive runner who wants to get a few more miles in for that week, and the seasoned ultra-runner who just loves hill repeats! Every week we meet along the I-90 corridor for a 4-mile, +/- 1,000' of vertical trail run which can be completed easily in approximately an hour. We then spend a few minutes refueling, enjoying hot tea or coffee and fellowship.

Every week a different location along the I-90 corridor, between exits 27 and Snoqualmie Pass.
