Join us for Up and Atom STEAM Days where we try out different STEAM and craft activities.  Inspired by the inventor of T-shaped traffic signals, Garret Morgan, we’ll design and engineer our own working stoplight using a paper circuit and LEDs. Learn about electricity, simple circuits, traffic signals, and Garret Morgan! In 1923, Garret Morgan invented the T-shaped traffic signal to improve traffic safety in his community. Garret Morgan saw that streets were dangerous because cars and wagons didn’t have clear rules for stopping and going. So, he invented a better traffic signal! Garret Morgan’s story shows us that simple ideas can have a huge impact on our daily lives.
