Join us for a special class with Tacoma Musical Playhouse! This class will teach basic acting skills through character, movement/dance and performance work based on popular books. Each class will center on a different children's book and teach students to tell a story in a different way. Presented by Tacoma Musical Playhouse, funded by the City of Tacoma/Tacoma Creates, and hosted by Tacoma Public Library.

Teen Time

Battlebots Showdown with Sphero Robots! Get ready to be the last bot standing with this creative engineering challenge with Sphero Robots! Sphero Robots are interactive gyroscopic robots that are controlled with tablets. The battle bots challenge youth with creating the strongest protective shell that will survive multiple rounds of battles. Battlebots challenge youth to test their ingenuity and their motor skills in controlling their bot. Whoever has the strongest battle bot will claim victory and win the title of the Strongest Bot! All youth will take home personalized medallions to remember their accomplishments! Presented by FabLab Education, funded by the City of Tacoma/Tacoma Creates, and hosted by Tacoma Public Library.

Community Compass

Offered as an extension of our Social Work program, drop-in to connect with University of Washington Tacoma's Master of Social Work Practicum Students. They will be happy to listen and assist patrons with general support and resource navigation.
