Dear Prairie Families,Ballet Northwest is a non-profit dance company based in Olympia and is the oldest ballet company in the state. Thanks to grants from the Nisqually Indian Tribe and Cowlitz Indian Tribe obtained by Ballet Northwest, students will be participating in a Ballet Northwest INSPIRE DANCE WORKSHOP.This exciting learning event will be on  Wednesday, May 6 . Ballet Northwest's experienced Teaching Artist Emily Nisbet will guide students to experience: * ·Movement is a form of expression available to everyone.* Dance is its own subject matter and can be used as a means to investigate other subjects.* Dance is made up of time, space, and energy and has its own vocabulary and history.*  Dance promotes healthy physicality and physical competence.* Dance is a way to experience joy in community.* Movement classes provide opportunities to practice respect for self and others, focus, creativity, problem solving, making strong choices, and collaboration. Family Lunch is Coming to Prairie! We're excited to invite you to join your student for a special  Family Lunch !  Grade Levels: K/1- Monday, May 11 (Recess: 10:40-11 a.m.; Lunch 11:00-11:25 a.m.) What to expect: * Parents will join their student  out at recess first......More

Family Lunch is Coming to Prairie! We're excited to invite you to join your student for a special  Family Lunch !  Grade Levels: K/1- Monday, May 11 (Recess: 10:40-11 a.m.; Lunch 11:00-11:25 a.m.) What to expect: * Parents will join their student  out at recess first , then walk with them into the lunchroom.  (FLC classes will follow the reverse schedule-lunch first, then recess.) * Parents will  pick up their pre-purchased lunch from the PTO table  before sitting down to eat with their student.* Once lunch is finished,  parents must head out  so students can return to their school day. Important reminders: * All parents/guardians must  sign in at the office as a visitor  when they arrive and wear a visitor sticker at all times. After signing in, you will be directed to where you need to go.* No outside food or beverages  are allowed for parents or students.* Students must have a school lunch or bring their own from home .* Please arrive on time for your student's scheduled recess/lunch window.* Siblings will need to remain with their own classes during their scheduled lunch times.  We are not able to pull students from other grade levels to attend a different lunch session. This is such a fun opportunity to spend a little extra time with your student during the school day-we're looking forward to it!
