The Parkersburg Homecoming Festival is an annual celebration, happening every year on the third Friday through Sunday each August, of music, art and culture. The festival features performances by local and international artists, as well as workshops, exhibitions, and food vendors. Homecoming is designed as a family-oriented, all-around good time for young and old. Each year, we hold talent contests and games, have a carnival, bring in concessionaires and music acts from all over and more! Join us for a weekend of fun and creativity! Friday kicks off with the annual “Kids Fest” along with opening ceremonies at 6 PM. Local legends Insured Sound will perform at 6:45 PM and celebrating their 50th anniversary. Legendary country parody comedian Cledus T. Judd will take the stage at 8:30 PM and performing his hits My Cellmate Thinks I’m Sexy, How Do You Milk A Cow, If Shania Was Mine and many more. Saturday begins with the annual parade down Market St. at 12:30 PM followed by activities at Point Park to include Dachshund Races, Higher Passion Wrestling, vendors, arts and crafts and more. The 23rd annual Johnny Staats Bluegrass Festival continues at 4:00 PM with Appalachian Hollow, the Johnny Staats Project and Johnny Staats & The Delivery Boys. The Ohio Valley Opry will cross the river and bring their family country music show at 8:30 PM. Fireworks will conclude at 10:00 PM from Fort Boreman Hill, sponsored by the City of Parkersburg. Sunday hours will run from 12 noon until 5:00 PM with a Gospel Sing at 2:00 PM sponsored by Bible Baptist Church followed by 3M Acoustic Trio at 3:15 PM. But he soon he is won over by Annie’s warmth and charm and decides to officially adopt her. Meanwhile, when Miss Hannigan learns of Annie’s adoption, she is furious that the orphan she hated so much will suddenly have everything. Her ne’er-do-well bother Rooster and his girlfriend Lily stop by the orphanage looking for a handout. Rooster realizes they can use this situation to their advantage and get Annie back and land on Easy Street. Warbucks buys Annie a new locket to replace her broken one. When Annie bursts into tears and explains that the locket was left by her parents, Warbucks pledges to find them, no matter what it takes. The broken locket around her neck is the only thing she has left by them. Grace Farrell, the assistant to billionaire Oliver Warbucks, comes to the orphanage, asking for an orphan to spend Christmas at his mansion. Seeing how poorly Miss Hannigan, who runs the orphanage, treats Annie, Grace insists on taking her. Warbucks, who assumed all orphans were boys, at first is not happy with Annie. But he soon he is won over by Annie’s warmth and charm and decides to officially adopt her. Meanwhile, when Miss Hannigan learns of Annie’s adoption, she is furious that the orphan she hated so much will suddenly have everything. Her ne’er-do-well bother Rooster and his girlfriend Lily stop by the orphanage looking for a handout. Rooster realizes they can use this situation to their advantage and get Annie back and land on Easy Street. Warbucks buys Annie a new locket to replace her broken one. When Annie bursts into tears and explains that the locket was left by her parents, Warbucks pledges to find them, no matter what it takes. Annie appears on Bert Healy’s radio show where Warbucks announces he is offering $50,000 to the couple that can prove they are Annie’s parents. However, all of the people who show up to claim Annie are frauds and Annie agrees to accept Warbucks’s offer of adoption. But Hannigan knows the secret of the locket and Rooster and Lilly come forward in disguise with forged documents and a fake half of the broken locket. A sad Warbucks requests that Annie be allowed to stay for one more night and be taken away on Christmas morning. The next morning Warbucks receives a visit from President Roosvelt and the Secret Service to tell him that they have finally learned that Annie’s real parents are dead. When Rooster and Lilly show up that morning to claim the prize, they are arrested and taken away. Warbucks officially adopts Annie, and they will live happily ever after! Every Thursday from 6:30-8:00 P.M. in Parkersburg City Park, summer music goers can bring a lawn chair and enjoy music outside of the bandshell. This is a free event, however, Artsbridge collects donations to support our 14 annual programs. Thank you for your support! Hand fans will be available again this year thanks to sponsorships from Vaughan Kimes and Sir Speedy! Thank you to the City of Parkersburg for providing the venue each week! In case if inclement weather the concert may be held in the covered horseshoe building next to the bandshell. The series will run from June 5 to August 28, 2023, taking off July 3 due to the holiday. This tour starts at 8 pm on Friday and Saturday nights, June-October. This tour does not run during first Fridays or Sternwheel Festival. Total distance covered is just over a mile. Handicap accessible. Although the entire course of the Ghost Trek is paved or brick streets, comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended. Starting Location is 205 Putnam St, in front of the Court House.

Featured dishes: 3 Bean Burger, Homemade Buns & Watermelon Salad General Cooking Class Information If there is not an option to add a class seat to your cart, that means the class is full. Each cooking class is a unique hands-on experience where you can learn everything from basic knife skills and sanitation to beautifully garnishing the finished product. Purchasing one spot in our cooking class entitles you to a station to share with another registered participant, use of our kitchen equipment, all the necessary ingredients to create the described dishes & in-depth chef instruction. Each cooking class takes place in our teaching kitchen at The Changed Plate.       Cooking Class Rules & Cancellation Policy ***Please note that registering for our cooking classes & completing your transaction is equivalent to signing the attached Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability Cooking Class Waiver** All class sign-ups are by pre-registration and pre-pay only.  Registration for standard classes closes 48 hours prior to each class.  Specialty classes, such as “Date Night” may close 72 hours prior to class, in order to allow restaurant staff sufficient time to prepare.  Cancellations will be accepted and refunds will be granted if request is received 2 weeks or more prior to date of class.  Cancellation requests received from 13 days to 72 hours prior to class will be granted transfer of payment to a future class (they will receive credit).  If cancellation notice is given less than 72 hours prior to start of class, no refund or payment credit will be given.  This includes no-shows day of class.  If class is cancelled by Cooking Class instructional team, i.e. in the event of adverse weather, or if less than 4 participants have registered for a class, the class will be rescheduled and/or participants will receive full payment credit for future class.
