The Fox Valley Tough Kid Challenge (TKC) is not your average Saturday morning – it's a thrill-packed obstacle course extravaganza and a super-fun fundraiser for the Appleton Area School District's physical education department! Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 4, 2025, starting at 9:00 a.m. and going until 1:00 p.m. at Highlands Elementary School, 2037 North Elinor Street, Appleton.Kids between the ages of 5 and 13 years old can conquer a 1.55-mile course filled with 30 mind-boggling obstacles that'll test agility and strength. But wait, there's more! This year, we've thrown in some wild new twists and turns to keep you on your toes!Register now and secure your spot for just $20 per participant. But beware, after September 26, the price jumps to $25 per participant. So, don't delay, register now.Mikki Duran, AASD Physical Education Program Leader, says that “We know that in order to improve our mental health, we need to work on our physical health. This fun challenging course gives our youth an opportunity to work on both!”A portion of the funds raised will benefit every elementary student who attends the Appleton Area School District. Each school will be eligible for a grant to enhance its physical education programs. The money is used in a variety of ways to support our physical education programs. Schools have updated their sound systems in the gyms, replaced equipment, purchased equipment, and programs that promote lifetime activities, run intramural activities, and the list goes on and on.
