This enchanting new musical follows Delilah, anoutsider in a new school who seeks comfort in the pages of her favorite book, where she feels heard and understood by the handsome Prince Oliver. But as the lines between fantasy and reality begin to blur in both extraordinary and astonishing ways, Delilah discovers how to find her place in the real world while keeping her dreams alive. Between the Lines JR. is based on the novel by international bestselling author Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer and features a book co-written by Jodi Picoult and Timothy Allen McDonald (Jim Henson’s Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas) and music & lyrics by Elyssa Samsel & Kate Anderson.

The MadHatters began in 1997 as the first a cappella on the University of Wisconsin campus. There are two schools of thought on the origin of the MadHatters: first, that the founding members loved to sing, and formed the group after choir rehearsals. The other, that the founders needed a way to fund their libation habits, discovered they could sing, and began charging people for concerts. We don’t know if either is true, but that, as they say, is Hatters History. The musical prowess of the MadHatters has taken them to sometimes unbelievable heights. From performing at the UW Band Concert, to singing at Miller Park, the Governor’s Mansion, Lambeau field, and the White House (twice!), the MadHatters have performed at places that most college students can only dream of.
