Slow Light June 4-August 16, 2026 Upon entering the Museum's main gallery, housed in a nineteenth-century barn, visitors are often struck by its grand, cathedral-like architecture. This exhibition pays tribute to the barn's physical presence and to its current role as a space devoted to the display and preservation of fiber arts in all its forms. Conceived as a visual essay, the exhibition invites viewers to explore a sequence of interconnected ideas in which one artist’s work leads to the discovery of another. It encourages contemplation of textiles in relation to the Museum's structure and engages with the idea of fiber arts as inherently architectural. Slow Light marks the fifteenth anniversary of the Museum's presence in this building, prompting reflection on the significance of being here. It also invites us to consider how fiber can provide insight into the architecture that surrounds us, the ways our bodies interact with these spaces, their scale and constraints, and the broader human experience within them.

This summer, our Sculpture Garden installation features life-size figurative artworks made by Cedarburg-local Dan Grunst!   Grunst created the works on view using a combination of found objects and wood which has been hand-carved and painted. Over the years, Summer Sounds has become an integral part of Cedarburg's summer social scene and is often referred to as the "biggest-ever picnic in the park." Purchase food and beverages in the park from multiple vendors or bring a picnic. Listen to great music from many genres.  Summer Sounds continues its tradition of providing a family-friendly atmosphere. Within its spacious and shaded venue, community members can enjoy comfortable and spacious green space, children's activities and amazing vendors. Summer Sounds is produced by Cedarburg Music Festivals, Ltd., an all-volunteer, non-profit group of devoted music lovers dedicated to bringing quality, free entertainment to the Cedarburg community. Interested in volunteering? Work just 1 Friday, all 10 or anything in between. Choose a shift or duty that interests you and fits into your schedule. Sign up on our website.

The Ozaukee County Historical Society presents, Bluegrass at the Village, on Sunday, August 9th at Ozaukee County Pioneer Village. We added a few new features for young families. We are promoting getting a wrist band to come and go during the day so families can go hiking in Hawthorne Hills Park, come back for food and music. We are going to have a “KIDS CORNER”, where children can make a log cabin, play giant Jenga, learn to play Ukulele and other games. We are also having a music clinic and jamming area for patrons to play with the featured musicians. Our performing artist selection focuses on local groups this year. Our lineup includes Sawdust Symphony, Valley Fox, Cerny & Ogburn, the new Fox Crossing String Band and our featured artist, Aidan Muse. Aidan is a 13-year-old banjo player who is an incredible musician and has opened for many national acts. He is from Twin Lakes, WI and has earned many awards in his young career. Slow Light June 4-August 16, 2026 Upon entering the Museum's main gallery, housed in a nineteenth-century barn, visitors are often struck by its grand, cathedral-like architecture. This exhibition pays tribute to the barn's physical presence and to its current role as a space devoted to the display and preservation of fiber arts in all its forms. Conceived as a visual essay, the exhibition invites viewers to explore a sequence of interconnected ideas in which one artist’s work leads to the discovery of another. It encourages contemplation of textiles in relation to the Museum's structure and engages with the idea of fiber arts as inherently architectural. Slow Light marks the fifteenth anniversary of the Museum's presence in this building, prompting reflection on the significance of being here. It also invites us to consider how fiber can provide insight into the architecture that surrounds us, the ways our bodies interact with these spaces, their scale and constraints, and the broader human experience within them.

This summer, our Sculpture Garden installation features life-size figurative artworks made by Cedarburg-local Dan Grunst!   Grunst created the works on view using a combination of found objects and wood which has been hand-carved and painted. These sculptures reference iconic images of folk traditions and Americana, including that of Uncle Sam, who is currently greeting visitors from our front lawn!   All of the works on display in the Sculpture Garden are available for purchase.

Over the years, Summer Sounds has become an integral part of Cedarburg's summer social scene and is often referred to as the "biggest-ever picnic in the park." Purchase food and beverages in the park from multiple vendors or bring a picnic. Listen to great music from many genres.  Summer Sounds continues its tradition of providing a family-friendly atmosphere. Within its spacious and shaded venue, community members can enjoy comfortable and spacious green space, children's activities and amazing vendors. Summer Sounds is produced by Cedarburg Music Festivals, Ltd., an all-volunteer, non-profit group of devoted music lovers dedicated to bringing quality, free entertainment to the Cedarburg community.
