Models, Muses, & Figures: Portraits from the Cedarburg Art Museum Permanent Collection May 10th – August 3rd, 2025 Opening Reception: May 17th The Cedarburg Art Museum Permanent Collection is filled with human subject matter; portraits, group portraits, and self-portraits. This exhibition features a selection of these portraits that show the diverse and extensive methods of portraiture from amazing Wisconsin artists. In a time where the creation and sharing of portraits is simple and expected through social media and other digital platforms, this exhibition features the careful process in which portrait painting exists outside of these technologies. The old, rich practice of portrait painting began as a method of remembrance, later developing into a show of wealth and power. However, when the technique of realistic portraits was perfected artists began to look inwards on themselves and their subjects, leading to a boom in expressive portraiture that has continued throughout art history.

  Summer Sculpture Exhibition: Kendall Polster May 24th – October 6th, 2025   After graduating from the University of Georgis in 1990 with majors in zoology and microbiology, Polster worked as a research biologist for 3 years at the Blood Center of Southeastern Wisconsin. Polster then started welding furniture and sculpture for a hobby. His brother Craig, who is a certified welder, taught him how to weld. Polster started medical school and eventually took a leave of absence in 1994 to pursue his are full time and start WELD GUY! .

This exhibition features a selection of these portraits that show the diverse and extensive methods of portraiture from amazing Wisconsin artists. In a time where the creation and sharing of portraits is simple and expected through social media and other digital platforms, this exhibition features the careful process in which portrait painting exists outside of these technologies. The old, rich practice of portrait painting began as a method of remembrance, later developing into a show of wealth and power. However, when the technique of realistic portraits was perfected artists began to look inwards on themselves and their subjects, leading to a boom in expressive portraiture that has continued throughout art history.

The Ozaukee County Historical Society invites the community to "National Flag Day Program and Celebration" at Stony Hill School, the birthplace of Flag Day. The founder of Flag Day, Bernard Cigrand, will describe his love of the flag and why he wanted to make it a national observance. Patriotic songs, flag etiquette and flag raising will just be part of the festivities.  Children will receive a commemorative flag and pin. Ice cream will be served.  Parking is limited so a free shuttle will be available to take guests between Stony Hill School and Ozaukee County Pioneer Village.

The Cedarburg Art Museum’s Summer Beer Garden kicks off its summer season on Thursday, June 13. Follow the museum gate to the Outdoor Courtyard & Sculpture Garden featuring the Lakefront Brewery Tap House. The Beer Garden will be open on Thursday evenings, 5:30-9:00 p.m. and Saturday afternoons, 12-4 p.m. through October 3, 2024. Visitors will enjoy live music, food trucks, and Lakefront Brewery beer and hard seltzer on tap, wine, other non-alcoholic beverages, and freeze pops. 2025 Annual Juried Art Exhibition Now You See Me: Self-Portraits by Wisconsin Artists May 10th – August 3rd, 2025 Opening Reception May 17th, 2 – 4pm Self-portraiture is a centuries old artistic practice of reflection and contemplation, yielding insight into both the appearance and the essence of the artist – presenting a representation not only of how they see themselves, but as they want to be seen. Models, Muses, & Figures: Portraits from the Cedarburg Art Museum Permanent Collection May 10th – August 3rd, 2025 Opening Reception: May 17th The Cedarburg Art Museum Permanent Collection is filled with human subject matter; portraits, group portraits, and self-portraits. This exhibition features a selection of these portraits that show the diverse and extensive methods of portraiture from amazing Wisconsin artists. In a time where the creation and sharing of portraits is simple and expected through social media and other digital platforms, this exhibition features the careful process in which portrait painting exists outside of these technologies. The old, rich practice of portrait painting began as a method of remembrance, later developing into a show of wealth and power. However, when the technique of realistic portraits was perfected artists began to look inwards on themselves and their subjects, leading to a boom in expressive portraiture that has continued throughout art history.

  Summer Sculpture Exhibition: Kendall Polster May 24th – October 6th, 2025   After graduating from the University of Georgis in 1990 with majors in zoology and microbiology, Polster worked as a research biologist for 3 years at the Blood Center of Southeastern Wisconsin. Polster then started welding furniture and sculpture for a hobby. His brother Craig, who is a certified welder, taught him how to weld. Polster started medical school and eventually took a leave of absence in 1994 to pursue his are full time and start WELD GUY! .
