One of the wonderful vendors at our summer Bethel Farmers Market & Faire in August is an elementary teacher who also happens to be a wiz at card creation. As many of us were gushing over her creations, Georgene mentioned that she teaches card-making classes. We were hooked! All are welcome to come to Bethel UMC (W5110 County Road A, Elkhorn) on Friday, February 6 at 3PM to create some cards of your own. This adults-only event will be held in our Fellowship Hall and cost each participant only $15. Georgene will bring all of the supplies, and each participant will walk away with THREE handmade cards, goodies in their tummies, and lots of fun and fellowship in their hearts. No previous card-making experience is needed. Just come and have a great time. Invite friends as well. Participants don’t need to be a Bethel member to join in.   To best plan, Georgene asked that we RSVP by Friday, January 30. Please email [email protected] to let us know you'll be coming. A memory cafe is a place where people with MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment), early stage Alzheimer's or related dementia can go with their care partners to socialize and have fun with other people going through similar things. A memory cafe has no real agenda or stated purposes except to enjoy each other's company. Cafes provide a time where you do not need to focus on the diagnosis, while having a great time connecting with each other as a family or creating new friendships. DURING THE LIBRARY'S RENOVATION, MEMORY CAFE WILL MEET AT THE SOUTHERN LAKES MEMORY PROJECT LOCATED AT 20 N. CHURCH STREET IN ELKHORN.

Secrets get revealed, conflicts erupt and recede, long festering wounds are dressed, and friendships and relationships terminated or reinstated. A Delightful Quarantine presents audiences with the interwoven stories of a mother reunited with the daughter she gave up for adoption thirty-two years earlier; a man with a secret that upends his marriage; a woman with fourteen cats, all invisible; a foiled house burglary that must wait three days for the police; a rekindled high school romance; two young couture-obsessed little girls “home alone” for the duration; and a brother who cannot honor his sick sister’s greatest wish.
