For our February meeting, Dr. Alysa Remsburg, Professor and Program Director, Sustainability and Environmental Studies minor at UW-La Crosse and Beth Piggush, Lecturer in the UW-La Crosse Environmental Studies Department will present a program entitled “From Ivory Towers to Indigenous Territories: Reimagining Land Justice.”  Their presentation will include information and photos of the Hinukwas Native Tree Trail and well as discussing the concept of land justice and land-back initiatives around the country.

Myrick Marsh Bird Walk

We will meet at head of main trail at the east side of the Nature Place parking lot.  We will walk a loop on the marsh trails and be back at the parking lot around 8:00.  All are welcome and it is free and open to the public.

We will meet at the Hixon Forest parking lot at the end of Milson Court.  We will walk a loop on the lower trails that follow the north edge of the golf course.

Trempealeau NWR World Migratory Bird Day Event

The Trempealeau NWR will be holding their annual World Migratory Bird Day event.  There will be activities for all ages including a bird walks, bird banding demonstrations, and more.  Bird walks are scheduled for 7:00 and 9:00.
