Dragon Training Academy will be held at the Discovery Center Watch as inventor & time traveler Brock Barnabas visits the present time to recruit some adventurous kids to travel back to the Medieval times. They train to help deal with an overpopulation of dragons!  Kids are trained to both defend against and tame dragons using Brock’s amazing science-based inventions and techniques. Upon completion of the audience’s training, Brock Barnabas prepares to transport the kids to the past – but inadvertently draws a dragon right to your event! Kids get to use their newly learned skills to deal with the dragon in the room! All shows are set up with a post-show meet and greet with a baby dragon animatronic! FUN! Brock Barnabas is the world-renowned steampunk time traveler & inventor from the 1800’s.  With his latest invention, the “Time Travel Trunk,” he is able to travel through time to help out past civilizations and recruit friends for various adventures. Join Brock Barnabas on an adventure, as he uses noy only his many inventions of science, but brings elements of humor, high energy, creative play, and (of course) realistic looking animatronic puppets to the stage for an experience like no other! This free library program is offered in partnership with the Boulder Junction Public Library. No sign-up necessary.

Trunk or Treat - Visitor Bureau event

The library will participate in the annual town Trunk or Treat event at Koller Park.  You can attend this event right after attending our fun Dragon Training Academy program happening that morning at the Discovery Center. Make it a day of fun with the kiddos!

Natural Pages – Is a River Alive? by Robert Macfarlane, at NLDC A partnership between the Discovery Center and Koller Library, each month we will focus on a different nature-based book each month, with discussions led by either Discovery Center or library staff. Books will be available for checkout at the library in the weeks prior to the meeting. This month we will be reading Is a River Alive? by Robert Macfarlane. Is a River Alive? is a joyful, mind-expanding exploration of an ancient, urgent idea: that rivers are living beings who should be recognized as such in imagination and law. This event is free and open to the public and will be hosted at the Discovery Center.
