Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12th 1809 in LaRue County, Kentucky.He became the 16th president of the United States in 1860. Notably, he was president during the American Civil War and issued the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863.Less than two weeks after the surrender by the Confederates, he was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth as he watched a play at the Ford's Theater on April 14th 1865.

Anthony fought a lifelong battle for suffrage for women, equal labor, and educational rights for women. She also took a stand against the practice of slavery and the consumption of alcohol. It is because of Anthony's persistence that American women today vote freely.

Nearly a century later, in 1971, the Uniform Monday Holiday Law changed the date to the third Monday in February. The position of the holiday between the birthdays of Washington and Abraham Lincoln gave rise to the popular name of Presidents Day.

His father was one of the founding members of the Confederation of Bar, which began in 1768 and took up arms against Russia, which controlled Poland at the time. After his father's death, Casimir took over military command and his brilliance earned him an impressive reputation. However, it was not long before he was accused of being involved in a plot to kill the king and was forced into exile.
