The La Crosse Area Software Developers group was formed to improve and grow the software community in the La Crosse area.  We are open to all levels and abilities from being a little interested in programming to those that have been programming professionally for years.  It is also an opportunity to learn of opportunities in the area and network with others of like interest.  We meet on the first Thursday of each month at the La Crosse Goodwill community room on Mormon Coulee Road at 6:30 pm and on the third Sunday of each month at the Onalaska Goodwill community room at 3:00 pm.  The goal on Thursday evenings is to have a short presentation on a topic that is of interest to the group such as on a programming language or how to get started in building a web site.   The goal on Sundays is to provide a time for people to practice their craft.  Regardless of language, we will come together with our own projects, and often have a challenge to attempt as well in order to help us grow outside of our own comfort zones. The word in the 'yard' is they're cutting back on some expenses, mainly staffing hours. After months of diligent research and sleepless nights you discover there is a one hour window when security is at a minimum. To comply with the recent staff cuts, the guards must take shifts watching only certain cells throughout the night. This is your opportunity, your only chance at freedom.
