Step into the enchanting world of Mozart’s beloved opera, The Magic Flute, with Opera for the Young. Follow Prince Tamino as he embarks on a daring quest to find the heroic Princess Pamina aided by the delightful birdman, Papageno, and a chorus of students from our local Plymouth Horizon and Fairview elementary schools. Join us at the PAC Thursday evening, May 15 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10 for Adults: (18+) and $5 for Children. Please reserve early, as seating is limited to 150. Transformed into whimsical space creatures, the students play Sarastro and his “Alien Council of Wisdom” in a fantastical interplanetary adaptation. Since 1970, Opera for the Young has introduced more than 2.5 million children to opera. OFTY strives to ignite enthusiasm for opera in young audiences, broadening access to opera for the entire community. Throughout the school year, OFTY brings live, professional opera to elementary school audiences with annual fall and spring tours. Students appear onstage in chorus and cameo roles, performing for their peers right alongside OFTY’s professional artists. All productions are fully staged, sung in English, and adapted especially for kids. Each year, OFTY reaches over 75,000 elementary school children throughout the Midwest to ignite an enthusiasm for opera. THE MAGIC FLUTE CREDITS: Music by W.A.
