This workshop is for parents, caregivers, and family members who want to go deeper in their reflection and learning around healthy sexuality, sexual health education, child and adolescent development, and how all of these things intersect. Participate in a little bit of sex ed while your students receive it in school! Led by Hallie Cohen, Training and Prevention Educator for YWCA Evanston/North Shore and sex education consultant to D65, this virtual workshop will be engaging, interactive, and discussion-based. During this workshop, participants will: * Explain how their own experience with sexuality education impacts how and what they share with their own children; * Identify the most important values and messages they would like to pass on to their children about sexuality; * Gain an understanding of healthy sexual development for their child's age range;* Identify teachable moments during which they can share information and family values regarding sexuality. The workshop will be held twice, with different developmental focuses. On these days, field trips or other special activities are planned for participants. Come celebrate our 5th grade creators! BitCrush is a district-wide celebration where 5th graders share the music+code projects they created in computer science class. It's a chance for students to be proud of what they made, explain what it means to them, and have their families and community cheer them on - whether they're a confident performer or someone who would rather share in a quieter way. BitCrush has two ways to participate: * Showcase: Students host a table/station and share their project on an iPad with visitors who walk around, listen, and leave positive feedback. This is a relaxed, conversation-based way to share.* Live Coding Competition: Students who want a more "on stage" experience can perform for an audience and judges and compete for trophies. Performances can include additional forms of expression, like singing, dancing, or playing live instruments. Teams of 1-3 can enter, and competition participants are paired with a Northwestern coach to help them prepare and rehearse. Students can sign up  for the Showcase, the Competition, or both.
