Enjoy this all levels yoga class which incorporates stretching, strength building, and breathwork for a challenging and accessible flow. We will work on poses in seated, all fours, standing, plank/ downward dog, and supine positions to access the entire body, all to a fun upbeat playlist. Class will end with a relaxing savasana (rest pose). Beginners welcome! Please bring your own yoga mat & blocks. Limited yoga mats & blocks are available to borrow at the library. Open to Ages 16+ and Adults Sandra lives in Sherborn with her family. She is a 200hr CYT (Certified Yoga Teacher) and is comprehensively certified in Pilates. Sandra enjoys working with all clients at any fitness level, helping them to find joy and community while they move. She runs a Pilates / yoga studio in her barn, works with DanceFIT Studio Natick where she also teaches classes and is the Fitness Manager. Call the library at 508-653-0770 or stop by the Children's Desk to register new and emerging readers for a ten-minute time slot to practice reading to Officer West of the Sherborn Police Department and his handler Sergeant Nulty in a private space. We have six, ten-minute slots open for children to read to Officer West. Children can bring their own book or pick one out at the library. Space is limited, so children must be registered in order to read to him. If there are multiple children in one family, please register for only one slot and have them share the allotted time, as registration space is limited. Woof! Learn about the rich cultural heritage of Mali through the universal language of rhythm. Join Moussa Traore for a history of traditional music in different areas of Mali and learn about the djembe, a drum originally from West Africa. He will talk about how the instrument is made and how singing and dancing combine with the drumming during traditional celebrations. He will have djembes and other West African instruments to share with attendees. Moussa will demonstrate several rhythms, explain where they come from in Mali and when they are played. Attendees will be able to join Moussa in his demonstrations. At the end of the program, Moussa will perform a traditional rhythm with singing, djembe and dununs. This program is for ages 8 and up.
