All Makers times are available to users who have a valid CWMars library card, attended a Makerspace Orientation, agreed to the Makerspace Policy, and signed the Waiver, Release of Claims, and Hold Harmless Agreement. All Makers tools are designated into zones, including general craft, sewing, and XY cutter (silhouette). A full list of All Makers tools can be accessed in this document. The SPL Learning Lab Makerspace provides access to tools and machines. Users must bring their own materials. Per the Makerspace Policy, some materials are excluded from the Makerspace. See the Policy for details. To use the SPL Learning Lab Makerspace during All Makers times, users who have completed the Makerspace Orientation must sign-in at the reference desk on the 2nd floor of the library. Usage of Makerspace tools during ALl Makers times is on a first come, first serve basis. They wanted easy money. They were no pickpockets looking for a few bucks. They wanted big money. And they didnât want just any money. No, they wanted your money, your friendsâ money, everybodyâs money. The money you sweated to make and then had the discipline to save. This presentation is the story of swindlers. About the Author: Bob Ainsworth wrote his first story while commuting and that became SCAMMED, a soon-to-be-published story pitting Harry against intricate and ruthless con artists. The 2nd story he wrote and the 1st one he published was CONNED, about Harryâs journey from a financial executive to a fraud detective while tracking down scams on Nantucket. The 2nd story published was DUPED, a fictional account involving Harry and his Uncle Louie's efforts to beat a ransom deadline and find the $500 million in art stolen from the Isabella Gardner Museum. His 4th book will be about Harryâs grandparent's interactions with Charles Ponzi in 1920s Boston. As for Bob, he settled in Boston after meeting his wife at Boston College.  He earned his CPA and worked as a CFO and Controller.  He uncovered several embezzlement schemes in my career. He lives with his family in a Boston suburb. About the Presenters: Brian Gratwicke is a conservation biologist and leads the amphibian conservation programs at the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute. Brianâs focus is building capacity to conserve amphibians in Appalachia and Panama, developing outreach and educational programs and exhibits to build public support for amphibian conservation, and research to develop tools to reintroduce amphibians back into the wild. At SCBI, Brian collaborates with Panamanian conservation biologists and zoo partners to build an ex-situ amphibian facility in Panama. The Panama Amphibian Rescue and Conservation Project based at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Gamboa maintains and grows captive assurance populations of species most heavily affected by the deadly amphibian chytrid fungus. One major research focus is developing applied solutions for the amphibian chytrid fungus, including research into the area of beneficial skin bacteria and identifying genetic traits associated with resistance to the disease. He also conducts research into emerging diseases and the effects of climate change on Appalachian salamanders. Gratwicke grew up in Zimbabwe and began his conservation work researching the impacts to freshwater fish in Africa. In 2000, he was awarded a Rhodes scholarship that took him to Oxford, where he studied marine fish communities in the British Virgin Islands for his doctorate. After completing his doctorate, Gratwicke moved to Washington, D.C., where he worked as a program administrator and then assistant director of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation's Save the Tiger Fund. Dr. Gina Della Togna is a researcher and conservationist, currently serving as the Executive Director of the Amphibian Survival Alliance and a Research Associate at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. Dr. Della Togna earned her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, with a specialization in Molecular and Cell Biology, from the University of Maryland, USA. Her groundbreaking research focuses on the reproductive biology of amphibians and the development of Assisted Reproductive Technologies for endangered species facing challenges in reproduction. As the co-Chair of the IUCN SSC Amphibian Specialist Group ARTs and Biobanking working group since 2017 and co-author of the Amphibian Conservation Action Plan (ACAP), Dr. Della Togna plays a vital role in advancing conservation efforts for amphibian species worldwide. Additionally, she is part of the IUCN SSC ASG Atelopus Task Force and member of the Atelopus Survival Initiative, co-chairing the Ex Situ Working Group. Dr. Della Togna serves on the Advisory Board of the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund, further showcasing her commitment to species preservation. Her dedication to amphibian conservation extends to her involvement in global, regional, and local initiatives, where she fosters collaborations and spearheads innovative projects to safeguard amphibian populations. Join Mario Bonavita as he discusses the basics of how autism impacts him and can affect other people with autism.   Mario was diagnosed with ASD at the age of 3. He has multiple interests such as basketball, swimming, music, hiking, weather, government, and economics. He especially enjoys educating individuals about autism. He has been a public speaker and educator about understanding Autism over the past 15 years. Mario initially started presenting as an 8th grade student in order to gain a personal understanding of having autism and to facilitate an understanding and acceptance for his peers, specifically what it was like to be diagnosed having an autism spectrum disorder,  but more to open conversations with his classmates. Mario's presentations evolved into providing education related to ASD at past public forums such as Agawam School Board, Community Resources for People with Autism. He  received the 2008-2009 Matthew Dandurand Award for my work in Autism Awareness, The Association for Community Living Achievement Award for self-advocacy and advocating for community service funding at various public events, most notably at the State House on April 9, 2012, and a recipient of the Paul DâAmato Volunteer Award June 11, 2013.
