Western Nebraska offers a unique blend of historical landmarks, stunning natural beauty, and outdoor adventure. It is also a fantastic place for birds! Whether you are local or visiting Scotts Bluff National Monument as part of your vacation plans, please join a Bird Conservancy of the Rockies educator on Saturday mornings to learn about the amazing birds that call Scotts Bluff National Monument and western Nebraska home for the summer. Bird Conservancy of the Rockies will have a table set up on the visitor center’s front lawn and look forward to sharing our passion for birds and western Nebraska wildlife with you! In the event of inclement weather, this program will move inside the visitor center. Birds of the Bluff is every Saturday this summer, May 31 to August 9, 9-10 a.m. *Except for June 14 and July 26.

The Midwest Classic Movie Series takes movies from the 1910's to the 1960's that have stood the test of time to be considered classic and puts them where they belong - back on the big screen.  The Historic Midwest Theater is the perfect setting to watch these films as it transports yo back to the era they were released in .  Whether you saw them on one of their original runs or only on TV, make your way to a M.C.M. screening on the 3rd Saturday of the Month. M.C.M. is getting into the Disney Through the Decades theme this June with the all time classic live action family movie - The Love Bug! Down-on-his-luck race car driver Jim Douglas (Dean Jones) teams up with a little VW Bug (Herbie The Love Bug) that has a mind of its own.  Jim decides to race Herbie with the help of his mechanic Tennessee Steinmetz (Buddy Hackett) and love interest Carol Bennett (Michele Lee).  Jim doesn't realize Herbie's worth until his sneaky rival, Peter Thorndyke (David Tomlinson), plots to steal Herbie for himself.  It all comes down to the big race, where Thorndyke will pull out every dirty trick he can think of.  Luckily Herbie has several tricks of his own.
