“It’s Alive!” (Stuffed Animal Puppets): (Grades 3 & up, 2-2.5 Hrs.) What would happen if Dr. Frankenstein were let loose in a toy shop?  Now I know what you are thinking: my child will be devastated and traumatized if we cut their favorite stuffed animal apart to create a puppet!  Relax, my friends, I will supply an array of cleaned, used stuffed animals to dissect.  This class is a great and unique way to teach students about hand puppets.  In this class, each student will begin with a stuffed animal, which we will then proceed to turn into a hand puppet by opening it up, learning to pattern its mouth, and constructing & installing a mouth plate.  Miraculously, this will animate a formerly inanimate object, turning it from a mere toy into a puppet. Creative Community Staff will pick students up at Epping Elementary School and walk them down to the Art Center.  Students who are commuting should arrive by 3:35. “It’s Alive!” (Stuffed Animal Puppets): (Adults 2-2.5 Hrs.) What would happen if Dr. Frankenstein were let loose in a toy shop?  Come animate a stuffed toy by making it into a puppet! This workshop will awaken the inner child of any adult. This Class is full. Please contact us to be put on a waiting list. [email protected] Come learn about clay! Where it comes from, how it is used, and how it can be made into thousands of items.  We will learn about coil and slab construction to make pots, trays, and treasure boxes. Over these 6 weeks, we will focus on learning skills and tool use to create lasting clay pieces. These items will be fired in a kiln, and then students will paint or glaze them. Glazed itemswill be fired in the kiln again to make a functional ceramic piece.  Projects will vary from specific skill-building to free-choice with skill demonstration. *no previous clay class needed. This class is for students in 1st grade through 8th grade or age equivalent. Clay is a medium that is easy to differentiate for different age/grade levels. This class will run 6 weeks.  Tuesdays from 11 – 12:15,  May 5, 12, 19, 26,  June 2 & 9. We need a minimum of 5 students to run this class – Maximum of 10. We currently have 3 interested students.  Please reach out if your child would like to join MS Art Club!  [email protected] Come create your way!  Middle School Art Club is a social art group that is full of choice!  Students are shown tools and techniques and given some examples of the ways they are used and can then explore their own creativity.  The group is also shown examples of how art is powerful!  This feeds their creative self-esteem as they create for self-expression. Please reach out if you have questions about this group!  [email protected] Students walk down from the Epping Middle School on their own- to arrive at the Art Center around 2:30.  (Vandy will walk them down the first time – and again if requested) Students from districts other than Epping should be dropped off by 2:40. If your student would like to join in the middle of a session (session = 4 meetings) please reach out by email to see if this is possible. You may pay by the session or for the full semester and receive a discount. These sessions are available twice a month for a $14.00 studio  fee each night.  Basic clay instruction on clay hand-building and tool usage will be provided. (sorry no wheels)  Your fee is your studio fee, clay can be purchased for $5.00/ pound.  The clay fee includes the first firing in the kiln (bisque fire).  Later come to a Glaze Night. You pay a studio fee of $14.00. Your glaze fee is $5.00/pound of clay used. On this day your glaze fee will include glaze and glaze firing in the kiln to create your functional ceramic piece. Homeschooled students or students coming from other school districts should arrive at Creative Community Space by 3:40 (and eat a snack before they come) You will find the registration form at the link below.  Upon receiving your registration & payment for an Epping Elementary Student we will email you a  “Welcome Letter” and “Walkers’ Release”  before your first session that will allow us to pick your child up at school.  If your child does not attend Epping Elementary, please email me and let me know so I can send you the proper directions. *Please note:  We follow the SAU 14 school calendar. Registration Deadline: ADVANCED REGISTRATION FOR JANUARY IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED.   Please invite your child/youth’s friend to join Art Club. Cancellation Policy:  Advanced registration can be refunded in full by December 23, 2025 for the 1st Art Club session of the 2026 year.  Credit is given for a future activity or art club if cancellation is after December 23, 2025. No refunds after the 4-week session has begun.   Registration deadlines for each session follow the above protocol.  The deadline is 2 weeks before a session begins.  Always feel free to email us and ask if there is space if the deadline has passed. Meeting space:  We will be meeting in the indoor Gathering Space. During classes and Open Art at Creative Community Space masks are optional. Winter 2025  = If there are events causing Art Club to be canceled (snow days/students not at school, teacher illness, half-day cancellations etc) There will be one makeup day offered on a Saturday/semester.  2026 Semester Session 1  January 8, 15, 22, 29 (pay in person 1/22 for session 2) Session 2  February 5, 12, 19, March 5 – (pay in person 2/19 for session 3) Session 3  March 12, 19, 26 – (pay in person 3/19 for session 4), April 2 Session 4  April 9, 16, 23, May 7 – (pay in person 4/23 for session 5), Session 5  May 14, 21, 28, June 4th (pay in person 5/28 for session 6 = $19.50) Session 6  June 11 – Last Day -End of Year Party!
