Explore different types of artifacts important to domestic, commercial, and military life from the late 18th to early 20th centuries in St. Lawrence County. Objects are located throughout the museum across two floors. Stairs and elevator access to the second floor are available. This program is designed for ages 6+ with adult assistance for younger participants. We recommend planning approximately 30 minutes for the activity. Find all 25 objects on the scavenger hunt list to win a prize!

SLCCHC October Book Club: "The Personal Librarian" Join us for our second SLCCHC Book Club meeting on October 26 at 6 p.m. As we continue to celebrate the U.S. Semiquincentennial this year, we look forward to sharing meaningful stories that reflect our 250 years of history. The 2026 Book Club will explore our history through a variety of lenses. Join us at any time! This month, we will be reading "The Personal Librarian" by Marie Benedict & Victoria Christopher Murray. This book is historical fiction set in the early 20th Century. Pre-registration is recommended as space is limited. Complimentary books will be available for pickup at the Museum Gift Shop while supplies last. Please indicate in your registration if you would like to get one through us. You can also borrow it from the North Country Library System or another library network. Audiobooks, physical books, and eBooks are readily available. Please contact us if you are unable to find a copy through the library system or Libby. Funding for this program was provided by the STLC 250th Commemoration Committee.
