Join the Johnstown Historical Society for a night time tour of the Colonial Cemetery on West Green Street. We will present some history on the cemetery, its residents, and have a few spooky stories to tell. For our final tour on October 30th we will be presenting a special condensed tour and spooky readings from Washington Irving (Legend of Sleepy Hollow) . This tour will take place every Thursday in October at 7pm and cost $5 per person. No reservations are required for this tour. Please check in and pay at Drumm House Gift Shop upon arrival. . This tour is NOT suitable for very small children and babies but we welcome older children and teens when accompanied by an adult. This tour takes place throughout the cemetery walls only where there are many lumps, bumps, broken headstones, roots etc that may be a tripping hazard to anyone unable to cope with the terrain. Please be sure you are capable of walking through this area and bring a flashlight! (No cell phone flashlights, headlamps, or bright lanterns please!)

Each student will learn about the process of this timeless art form and make two stained glass feathers to take home. This workshop is for students ages 16 and older of any experience level. A lunch break will be provided - you can bring your own lunch or plan to visit one of our local restaurants. A dvanced students are welcome to make a 12" clear glass window hanging with bevels. Instructor Doug Hallberg is a retired NYS public school art educator (1996-2012) with an MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology. In 2012, he was awarded a New York State Enterprise grant to open Carriage House Art Studio in Oneonta, NY (2012-2018) to provide a variety of community classes, including some geared toward artists with special needs. Market St., Johnstown will hold their annual Election Day spaghetti supper on Tuesday November 4th from 4 to 7 p.m. The meal consists of spaghetti, meatballs, tossed salad, Italian bread, homemade dessert and assorted beverages. Take-outs will be available. The cost for adults is $15.00; children 5-12 $6.00 and free for children under the age of five. Tickets are available at the door. The church is handicapped accessible by using the Clinton Street entrance. The group consists of Jim Gaudet, guitar, singer, songwriter, Sten Isachsen, mandolin and backing vocals, Rich Pagano, piano and backing vocals, Bob Buckley, bass and backing vocals. Jim spent three decades repositioning bluegrass for contemporary fans who enjoy a broad pallet of Americana influences in their music. Four time winner of Bluegrass Band of the Year at the New York Capital District Eddies Awards. They’ve enjoyed standing ovations at festivals across the country including four International Bluegrass Music Association festivals of the year: Wintergrass in Seattle; Joe Val in Boston; Podunk in Hartford, Grey Fox in Oak Hill, New York; plus the IBMA’s Bluegrass Ramble in Raleigh, NC.
