Join us for a Community Shred Event, sponsored by the Flowers Plantation Public Safety Division as a way for residents to securely dispose of their sensitive documents.   No Cost To Offload Please be mindful that we are there for 2 hours or until truck is full.  Located at new parking lot by Percy Flowers Store Staff will meet you at your car, grab the boxes and load into the truck  Shredding occurs on site We will be hosting a food drive during the event, no charge to off load, but if you like to bring  non perishable food we will be collecting for distribution to those in need. Lets fill the truck with food and items for for those in need while securely disposing of sensitive items!

"We Cannot Forget: Telling Our Stories of War at Home and on the Battlefield" Memoir presentation with Barbara Presnell Award-winning NC poet and educator -sponsored by Neuse River Writers and the Johnston County Arts Council- Free, open to the public. Presnell's new memoir, "Otherwise, I'm Fine," delves into themes of grief and healing, and follows the narrative of traveling across Europe to follow her father's WWII trek from Omaha Beach to Elbe. May 8 is the 80th anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day.

Concerts will take place on Raiford Street in Downtown Selma. Bring your own chair. Coolers prohibited. Downtown Selma is a social district - get your cup from The Alley, Quantum Toad or The Vault and enjoy the concert. Food Truck will be set up as well as Hahvad Yahd Cafe inside the Southern Bostonian.
