Craft of the Week- Rainbow Twirler

Each week, there is a new craft near the Children’s Room. The craft may be made at the library or taken home to make. To add to the fun of the beginning of the summer reading challenge, Color Our World, this week’s craft is a rainbow twirler.

From June 17th-August 16th, kids ages pre-K to Grade 8 can participate in the Summer Reading program, Booked for Bikes! The program is generously sponsored by the Vergennes Rotary Club. This year is based on the theme Color our World! Pick up your entry forms from the Bixby to log your reading minutes. After submitting your entries at the library, you will be entered into the drawing to win the Grand Prize, a new bike! Every entry also enters you into our weekly drawings to win fun art related prizes like a children’s pottery wheel or sketchbook, and earns you a colorful bead for your tracking bracelet/necklace.

Every reader who signs up will have a 10 minute session to read out loud along with being able to hang out for the hour in the room and silent read. Spots to read out loud are limited, so contact [email protected] to sign up for one! This is great for beginner readers, those who struggle with reading out loud, those who need help with gaining confidence or any kiddo who needs some dog time! If you do not manage to snag a spot, you will be invited to silent read in the Children’s Room during the hour if interested!
